Triotech: 25 years in the making N
Park World celebrates 25 years of Triotech, with an inside look at the company from Ernest Yale, Founder and CEO.

ovember 2024 marks our 25th anniversary. For a quarter of a century we
have been designing, developing, and manufacturing attractions and rides for the global leisure and entertainment market. There is a story that one competitor
once called us the Pirates or Rebels, which I think is a compliment. We push to break the status quo. I remember reading about the first days of Apple; they had a pirate flag, and we all know the rest of their story.
We're just a bunch of nerds. I'm a software engineer; I've been playing
with computer games and coding since the age of 12. We've always been constantly playing with new technologies and trying to change things. I've always travelled to the CES show to try new technologies. We don't like the status quo; we like things to evolve and bring these
attractions to the next level, making them exciting for customers. Maybe that's where it comes from.

The milestones 1999 was a different world. We didn't have smartphones, the internet, or anything. I grew up when video games started with Ataris and arcades, driven a lot by Japanese companies. I never imagined we could compete in that space. Our first IAAPA show was in Atlanta, 2,000 kilometres from Montreal, and
we were a small company, so we drove because we couldn't afford the flights back then. We developed a simple arcade game, a first-person shooter, and brought
it to the show with a small stand. It was just about working in a field we loved, and slowly we evolved. It's always been about looking at an attraction, trying new things, and
bringing ideas from the video game world into out-of-home attractions. That's how we started and evolved from smaller to bigger attractions, like Primordial, an indoor-outdoor roller coaster in the US that was voted best new attraction in the USA today. I never imagined I would work on such an incredible attraction. In 1999, we started a company with a passion and a creative mindset,
gathering other like-minded people along the way without necessarily having a five- or ten-year goal. Now, 25 years on, we're creating things we never imagined. It's similar to
a lot of other brands. No one knew in the '90s or early 2000s what we'd be building today.
