Current situation for Wiegand on the waterslide market Wiegand Waterrides is the only waterslide manufacturer with both, stainless steel waterslides as well as FRP slides in its portfolio. Therefore, the current weakened supply chain of materials hurts. Due to a very conservative stock policy, we survived the draught and could deliver all projects in time.
Due to many clients being public pools the demand was constant also during these challenging years. Very large projects – such as cruise ships – were on hold but are now back on track which gives Wiegand a strong push for the future months. Wiegand is proud to have worked with every single shipping company in the market and future projects are very promising with never seen before waterslide creations in both size and experience currently planned for upcoming ships that will be a feast of new ideas for this market.
Gigantic new Indoor Waterslide for the most successful indoor waterpark Some indoor waterparks used the forced closures for a maintenance period, make-overs, and expansion. Currently we are building our largest indoor waterslide ever at the most visited indoor waterpark in the World – Therme Erding. This creation will feature new movements and a mix of fibreglass and stainless-steel. It will be ready for Christmas and announced soon. Also, public pools are strong on the investment / renovation side.
VR still going strong – with new facemask concept
Repeatability and interactivity remain the big thing in the Waterpark industry. Not only have we now the most user-friendly VR Snorkling on offer in the industry with new full-face masks, also new movies AND the option to rent the gear for events heightens accessibility for smaller pools to offer cutting edge new technology to their guests as a marketing tool. The movies – with sound – let the user escape into weightless worlds in deep space or the mystic temples on the ocean’s floor. The Masks are very reliable due to our experience in the VR Water field since 2017.

Wie-Glow transports 80s look into the 2020s
Finally, we succeeded to customise waterslides (and our dry slides) with creative, unique blacklight colour creations – also possible to be combined with sound effects. The big challenge was to find a method work the paint into the FRP layers without disturbing the high-quality strength of the material. Now we succeeded and patented this highly creative effect. Freestyle art can now be the storytelling method of the slide experience like a trip over the Milky Way to Mars or a fairy light to the fairy tale party in the end. High-performance UV light in user friendly LED form creates the patented Glow. The result is a fascinating, unique 360° visual feast. The best: none of this is visible from the outside of the FRP slide so the visuals, of your architecture is not influenced by that look.
City centre Spray Park
What many don’t know is the fact that Wiegand also creates spray parks. The advantage: these can be customised to every detail so also city centre designs allow to present modern-looking water features that happen to be safe for kids to play in. Zero-depth versions make sure the water volume stays low so that such a play pad can be fun for many locations besides the basic ideas.
