diverse leadership and the demand for women in safer gambling is growing by the day. I’m incredibly proud to be part of Global Gaming Women, a group dedicated to supporting and empowering women in this industry. If you’re not already involved, I can’t recommend it enough. It’s free and it’s an incredible way to meet mentors, expand your network, and build your career. But we’re not just here to make up the numbers. We’re leading the way. Women are heading up regulatory bodies, running responsible gaming programs, and shaping corporate strategies. Just look at Grainne Hurst (CEO of the BGC), Joanne Whittaker (CEO at Betfred), and Marion Ryan (MD of Tombola) just some of the incredible women proving that gaming is an industry where we can thrive and lead.
One of the things that sets safer gambling apart from other corporate sectors is collaboration. It’s not about competition but about sharing best practices, research, and ideas to make the industry better for everyone.
That sense of community is one of the reasons I’ve stayed in gaming for so long. Whether it’s through groups like Global Gaming Women or simply the day-to-day work we do with operators,
regulators, and charities, it’s an environment where you’re constantly learning, growing, and working with brilliant people who genuinely care. Another huge bonus? Flexibility. Many roles in safer gambling offer remote working, fl exible hours, and job-sharing arrangements. It’s a sector that understands that work-life balance isn’t just a nice-to-have but it’s essential. More and more companies are adopting policies that let women (and men!) build fulfi lling careers without sacrifi cing their personal lives.

Victoria is a recent alumna of Harvard Business School, and the Founder of player protection consultancy Better Change. Focusing on Positive Play, Better Change is about supporting the majority of players who gamble safely rather than focusing on restrictive measures aimed at those already harmed. She has global experience from the UK, USA, Australia, Malta, Brazil and Argentina. Innovation, differentiation and futureproofi ng are always at heart of her work and after more than a decade in the industry, Victoria’s passion surrounds safeguarding players while respecting the operator’s need to remain commercially viable.
