Gaming International Online: The pandemic has changed a lot within the work environment over the recent years, how did edict get through the pandemic and what is the news from the product side, Dominic? Dominic-Daniel Lienard: Actually it went a lot better than we thought. We started very early to allow our employees to work from home and the overall experience proves that we were right. But of course, it is in the nature of things. We are a software company. As long as our developers have access to their laptops, all is well. Of course the social interaction was hard to establish, especially for new members of the team; we tried to integrate them via virtual meetings, but it is not the same. So we are quite happy that we are establishing a hybrid model now, with some hours in the office and the possibility to still work some days remote from home.
On the product side we are moving on from just delivering the Merkur games to a hub with several game studios, if you like you can call it an aggregator solution. During the year we will launch more and more content from different game studios. Booming Games is already live through us with some of our customers. Furthermore, we had a lot of work with getting our games compliant and live in the newly regulated markets of Holland and Germany.
GIO: How important is it for you to meet your customers in person again? D-DL: We have already seen it at the last iGB and SIGMA at the end of last year, everybody was happy to meet old friends or partners in person again. It is a big part of our customer relationship approach to have great personal relationship with customers and suppliers. So, we are very happy to be travelling again. But quite frankly, we have been on the road for the last several weeks and it is quite an experience to travel that much again after sitting at home for a long time.
