YGAM & Betknowmore UK launch Safer Gambling Training


Leading charities the Young Gamers & Gamblers Education Trust (YGAM) and Betknowmore UK have joined forces to launch Safer Gambling Training, a purposeful new programme to provide gambling industry employees with specialist online training to strengthen play protection standards and effectively safeguard consumers from gambling- related harm. The resources have been developed using a methodology known as ‘flipped learning’ derived from Neuroscience studies on how the brain learns. The collaboration combines specialist knowledge,


lived experience insight and research to create what is believed to be the most advanced and comprehensive training programmes globally. Six interactive digital training modules have been released which cover key topics including customer vulnerability, safeguarding, customer interaction, identifying harm and employee mental health and well-being. The training content is all relevant to the Gambling Commissions latest LCCP requirements and has received funding from regulatory settlements to support the delivery of the National Strategy to Reduce Gambling-related Harms. The Canada-based Responsible Gambling Council (RGC) is also involved in the alliance acting as independent evaluation partners. Lee Willows, Chief Executive of YGAM said “Our

customer facing teams by increasing their understanding gambling-related harm through the lens of lived-experience. Mohegan Sun adopts Bartech wireless eTray technology for customers


Bartech, the leader in automatic minibar solutions for the global hospitality industry, has partnered with Mohegan Sun Casino & Resort to implement its advanced eTray solution, an innovative platform that allows hoteliers to sell non-refrigerated products within the guestroom without the need for an existing minibar. fully automated minibar, the eTray possesses full wireless operating abilities using a module that is directly integrated into the solution’s electronics. This provides properties such as the Mohegan Sun with the seamless ability to remotely monitor and manage individual guestroom inventory levels, with staff only entering guestrooms to replace products when notified by the system and therefore reducing any unnecessary room entries that may lead to contamination or direct contact with guests. With


guests seeking to avoid more public hotel areas such as on-site shops or cafes, the eTray also ensures that diverse retail needs can still be met while providing properties with an alternate source of much needed revenue. As a non-refrigerated point-of-sale platform, this includes providing guests with safer access to items such as headphones, cellphone chargers, headache pills, bottled water, hand sanitizer, face masks and much more.
