AUTUMN ROUND-UP Interblock

Innovative and forward-looking as ever, Interblock responded proactively to the crisis for their customers. CEO John Connelly speaks to the industry in an open letter

W

ith the unforeseen challenges our industry has experienced this year, Interblock immediately took a proactive approach

in redefining the types of products to address the demand for Social Distancing. This decision has resulted in Electronic

Table Games being viewed as a viable alternative to traditional table games not seen before. The enhanced hardware configurations provides both dealers and players alike an environment they feel comfortable participating within. Taking this into consideration, there are two products which tend to stand out more than others, in helping fulfill a demand that has been created due to COVID-19; The Automated/Live Dealer Stadium and Universal Cabinets from Interblock. The modular Stadium offering now allows

casinos to provide a six-foot distance between the dealers and the players, while also enabling the same distance between the players themselves. The ability to use fewer dealers, while providing a safe working environment, has resonated with casinos globally. Casinos have intentionally closed their traditional five and ten-dollar Live Table Games and moved this area of the casino to a more cost effective/acceptable Stadium environment. This momentum is further fueled by a new version of the Interblock Stadium being released this summer. Dozens of new products and functionality will expand the demographic appeal currently seen in within the existing product. The Universal Cabinet is the next

generation of electronic table games. This unique offering provides players a solitary environment from which they can play at their own pace and have the ability to learn various games without the intimidation often found when sitting at a traditional live table game. This technology takes enables casinos to reduce operating expenses associated with live table games, while increasing both the Handle and Hold of the games. This combined with the ability for casinos to attract a new type of player is very compelling.

48 SEPTEMBER 2020

In addition, Interblock has officially launched the long awaited Golden Ball Roulette offering. This new product has a unique side bet that is designed to offer players an ability to win well beyond the traditional roulette payouts, while increasing the Hold percentages to the casinos. Unlike other roulette’s designed to increase the hold of the game, Golden Ball is an opt-in side bet that gives the player the choice if they wish to place a wager on the Golden Ball. This approach has proven to be very appealing and the overall performance of Interblock’s mechanical roulette games have gone up considerably. What makes this product

even more interesting, is that Golden Ball Roulette is attracting a new type of player and is complementary to the existing electronic table games on the casino floor. In summary, although the gaming industry is facing some of the more challenging times in recent years, the combination of innovation and casino/ supplier partnerships will allow all of us to see our way through this difficult period.

Sincerely,

John Connelly CEO Interblock
