Editor’s comment
The markets are recovering, slowly but surely. But with recovery, it seems, comes a resurgence of the virus – so governments worldwide are in an impossible situation. It is, as my dear old mum used to say, ‘shit or bust’. No easy answers, no sure solutions, just trial and error. With most governments, that means plenty of error, which often coincidentally results in their supporters and friends making a large amount of money. All coincidence though, I assure you. As for me, life rumbles on. This summer both my parents died,
completely unrelated to COVID but no less devastating as a result. Seven weeks between the two of them, barely time to draw a breath, it seemed. Another generous reminder from life that the world doesn’t stop turning for any of us, and that the reason God put testicles on the outside of the body is so it’s easier to kick you in them.
Look after yourselves. Stay safe.
