Global Gaming Women hosts 10th annual Kick Up Your Heels fundraiser at Wynn Las Vegas

he 10th annual Kick Up Your Heels fundraiser held at Wynn Las Vegas raised more

than $250,000 to support the Global Gaming Women (GGW) organisation as well as its Charitable Education Fund that provides women with educational scholarships to help advance their professional careers. The event’s founder, legendary

gaming executive Patty Becker, started the Kick Up Your Heels program a decade ago to support educational opportunities and leadership development for the next generation of female gaming executives. The original idea was for women in the industry to come together during the annual G2E gathering to network, support one another and make a small contribution toward GGW, with the suggestion of donating the same

amount as the price of your last pair of “heels” or shoes. Today, Kick Up Your Heels has become a must-attend event on the G2E calendar for both women and men alike and has secured major corporate sponsors such as Aristocrat, Association of Gaming Equipment Manufacturers (AGEM) and Wynn Las Vegas.

Along with raising funds, the

event also celebrates a select group of women in the industry with the Patricia Becker Pay It Forward Award. The award is given to those who have committed to the development and advancement of women,

GGW, and their community. 2019 Patricia Becker Pay It Forward awardees included: Deanne McKissick, Vice President, Aristocrat Technologies; Meaghan Ryan, Vice President, Talent & Team Member Relations Seminole Hard Rock Support Services; Karla Perez, Vice President – Head of Gaming, Sysco Corporation; Jennifer Roberts, Associate Director of the International Center for Gaming Regulation, UNLV; Randi Kolesar Topham, Executive Director of Marketing, Scientific Games; Suzanne Trout, Chief Marketing Officer, Foxwoods Resort Casino; and Emily Wofford, Owner and Partner, The Publicity Lab.
