INDUSTRY UPDATE THE BMA COLUMN THE KBSA COLUMN

BMA – Building resilience into business

T

he BMA’s Chief Executive, Tom Reynolds, shines a spotlight on the BMA’s Annual Industry Conference and the relevance of resilience.

The BMA’s Annual Industry Conference is shaping up to be the highlight of the sector’s year, with two days of inspiring speakers, activities, and networking.

The BMA team has been working hard to create a packed and informative agenda for the October 9th and 10th conference at the Carden Park Hotel in Cheshire. The agenda is now finalised, so I wanted to share that early before the tickets sell out.

This year’s conference theme is resilience, a crucial topic given the recent exposure of vulnerabilities in supply chains due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, building resilience in operations and the role of sustainability within our sector is something we’re all looking to do. On the first day, we’ll host a Technical Workshop and a charity golf event with prizes for the best team and individual performance. There will be a Marketing Workshop in the afternoon, followed by a gin-tasting event. The evening will end with networking at a drinks reception and an ‘Oktoberfest Dinner’.

On day two of the conference, we’ll kick off with our member-only General Council meeting, followed by our open sessions featuring expert speakers discussing their ideas on resilience.

In the morning, Bonita Morris, a leading UK adventurer and author, will give a talk on ‘The Resilient Mindset.’ After lunch, Patrick Ricketts and Kanthi Ford will share their thoughts on ‘Resilience Through Diversity’. To conclude the day, we’ll have our ever-popular Big Debate: How resilient are our global value chains in bathroom manufacturing? We’ve also got Vicky Pryce, Chief Economic Adviser, and a board member at the Centre for Economics and Business Research (CEBR), joining us to take a closer look at how resilient our economy is. The evening of day two promises to be special, with a fantastic networking drinks reception followed by a black-tie Gala Dinner and the BMA’s Sustainability Awards (more details on the awards will be announced soon). The dinner menu is a mouth-watering 4-course affair with a raffle/auction supporting our charity partner, CRASH. https://bathroom-association.org.uk/bmaconf2023/ Visit BMA Industry Conference 2023 for more details.
