understanding individual consumer preferences. How well their wants and needs are considered at design and specification stage. Equally, it might be about the value-add in terms of storage for bulk buying in supermarkets, especially with the rising cost of food prices, or adding workspaces, utility rooms or pantries. But more than that, it’s also about the value add to the environment, with consumers actively interrogating the sustainability credentials of the manufacturers. There is another key trend that makes this time different to previous times when we’ve seen high
The true value of kitchens T
he conversation is changing between retailers and consumers around the
inflation and low growth across the economy. In recessions past, people tended to opt for cautious designs, keeping palettes and colour specifications light and neutral. In 2023, people are now opting for more adventurous tones and individual colour options. Perhaps this is because we’re all spending more time at home, and we want our kitchens to reflect our personal preferences. Or whether it’s because we’re all just a little bored by the conventional. In our conversations with retailers, we
constantly urge designers to push the boundaries. To properly expand and explore with potential customers what value means to them. And then create a design that delivers above and beyond the conventional. Because if we talk about value, rather than cost, we can change the conversation and increase the conversion from prospect to customer while adding great designs to our portfolio to show other prospective clients.

E
mbracing the black kitchen trend, Schüller’s Vienna model contrasts
dark fronts with marbled worktops for a distinct and sumptuous look. Classic shaker doors paired with rustic wooden
features, like bottle storage with cross dividers and multi-purpose pull-out crates, bring a touch of countryside chic, whilst tailored storage solutions deliver the necessary functionality of a modern- day kitchen.
Ceiling-high tall units provide plenty of
storage, leaving more space for passionate cooks to get creative. Beautifully eye-catching display units enhance the homely feel of a traditional style kitchen, with indirect lighting and mullion doors giving your good crockery the attention it deserves. Modern twists ensure a contemporary style is
not overwhelmed by traditional features. Introducing bar handles to the shaker doors do
just that. Schüller has a variety of styles and finishes available to allow for individual tastes. Making use of the space above the island, a stylish pendant light is not only useful for cooking and preparing food but can also add a modern touch. To join Schüller’s network of independent
