TTA launches National Tile Day to celebrate tiles and the tiling industry across the UK


he Tile Association has launched National Tile Day, which will be taking place on 8th September, to celebrate tiles and the tiling industry across the UK. TTA hopes that the industry will consider celebrating tiling by organising events and communications showcasing how companies are engaging with #NationalTileDay.

Here are some suggestions for how to get involved: • Host a celebration day – from trade days to tile workshops, bring tiling professionals together for an enjoyable opportunity to connect • Share your stories – such as customer testimonials, staff spotlights, and apprenticeship progress • Spotlight tile trends – pick a standout project which demonstrates a tiling trend, or partner with designers or influencers to share projects • Offer giveaways, discounts and prizes – leverage the chance to tie in special promotions


• Get active on social media – from behind-the-scenes of the tile factory to virtual tours of showrooms or projects, using #NationalTileDay


The day aims to raise the profile of the tiling sector by highlighting the advantages of tile as a wall and floor covering finish, quality craftsmanship in tile design and installation, and excellence from across the supply chain. Excellence in tiling is clearly demonstrated by all the winners of TTA Awards 2025, along with all the worthy finalists – and this year The Tile Association was particularly proud to commemorate its 25th anniversary. It is also the cornerstone of innovation showcased at The Tiling Show, which as this year’s event proved gains momentum year on year. Exhibitors confirm that The Tiling Show “spotlights the UK tiling industry like no other event” and “reinforces just how strong and collaborative the tiling industry is”. It has been described as the “ideal event” to showcase products, connect directly with customers, and deliver engaging live demonstrations.


TTA is also bringing tiling professionals together at its upcoming Golf Day, sponsored by Pro Tiler Tools. The event will be hosted at The Stratford Park Hotel & Golf Club and has been rescheduled to Wednesday 10th September. This tees up a fantastic day of golf, networking and exciting prizes.

New Commercial Director for Glen Dimplex Home Appliances – GDHA appoints Luke Harding


len Dimplex Home Appliances (GDHA) has announced the appointment of Luke Harding as its new Commercial Director.

Joining from GN Group where he was Sales Director for Europe North, Harding brings a wealth of experience in household appliances, having previously held multiple senior leadership roles within Electrolux, including as Managing Director for UK & Ireland and Sales Director for Europe West.


Prior to that, Harding was a leader in a number of FMCG organisations including as European Sales Director for Clorox and International Commercial Director for Jeyes.


GDHA is continuing its transformative journey to build a commercially focused branded business through its respected brands, Stoves and Belling. Harding’s experience will be invaluable as the company continues to prioritise strong relationships with retail partners and enhancing the consumer experience.


Luke Harding said: “This is a great time to join Glen Dimplex Home Appliances as it focuses on building the Stoves and Belling brands. There are ambitious plans in place with the launch of innovative technologies and products and I’m looking forward to working with the team to really develop strong customer relationship, drive commercial success and reestablish the brands where they should be.”
