Industry Update THE TILE ASSOCIATION COLUMN

TKC upgrades its trade- only showroom to further improve customer service

TKC has upgraded its showroom and trade counter to incorporate more kitchen displays, more ancillary products and a separate area for trade customer transactions as part of its continued expansion plans.

Now laid out in stylish room sets are the Cambridge and Windsor ranges, both key additions

to the showroom having been recently launched by TKC to meet the continued market demand for solid timber doors.

The TTA now offers a full range of RIBA- approved CPD material for tiling specifiers

T

he TTA now offers RIBA-approved CPD literature on virtually every subject related to tiling. The subjects covered include tiling for wetrooms and other subjects of interest to specifiers in the bathroom and kitchen sectors. The RIBA approval covers all TTA technical publications and these are available for download free-of-charge from the TTA website by registered architects and specifiers. The TTA’s Technical Publications and Technical Advisory Notes are produced by members of the Association’s own Technical Working Groups, in partnership with relevant external bodies. They contain full bibliographies and references to British, European and International Standards. Architects and specifiers have to carry out CPD training to keep their professional qualifications up-to-date, and the TTA’s ability to offer CPD material is another great service from the Association.

The topics covered by the TTA’s technical documents include a large range of subjects and are grouped into five key categories within the architects’ area of the TTA website. The publication groupings are: Ceramic Tiling onto Boards and Sheets; Ceramic Tiling onto Screed Systems; Internal Ceramic Tiling; Slip Resistance of Ceramic Tiling; Tiling of Wet Rooms and Cleaning & Maintenance of Ceramic Tiling. Each of the documents is about 40 pages in length.

Together these now comprise a significant body of material which is RIBA- approved and provides architects and specifiers with the best available information and guidance on a range of general and specific subjects related to tiling.

The highly popular Cartmel, Lucente, Norbury and Vivo collections also remain on display, along with cameo sets showing TKC’s paint to order palette. Wirework has now also been fitted within the displays so that trade customers can see them in situ and demonstrate the different configuration options to their clients. Says Sinead Gill, TKC Trade Counter Manager: “With the addition of more ancillary products such as silicones, sealants and fixings and an upgraded display area that allows us to show more of our rapidly expanding product range, we aim to act as more of a one-stop-shop for customers.

“Crucially, we have been able to include displays of Cambridge and Windsor, which have rapidly become popular sellers as the demand for classic design continues to grow.”

The trade-only showroom allows TKC customers to visit with clients to view the latest collections and help them choose their kitchen. For more information contact TKC.
