Stainless Steel

The enduring appeal of stainless steel D

espite the growth of alternative sink materials, the British homeowner’s love affair with stainless steel shows no sign of waning. Sure, the growth of ceramic and granite-based products over the past few years has been noticeable, but steel undoubtedly remains the soul of the kitchen sink market here in the UK. It’s not difficult to understand why, as the combination of timeless appeal, practicality, usability and aesthetics offered by stainless steel is hard for any other sink material to match.

Comment by Dave Mayer Sales & Marketing Director, Reginox

Steel offers so much versatility and, as a result, steel sink designs are becoming more innovative and even daring year on year. Advanced manufacturing techniques are enabling this creativity and we are seeing steel’s obvious limitations being pushed to the limit, with new shapes, angles, depths and profiles being introduced. Who would have believed a couple of years ago that we would, for example, be seeing coloured stainless steel sinks as an option?

There is so much scope for future innovation and combining steel with other materials such as glass, granite, plastic, stone or wood. The ongoing challenge for manufacturers is to keep pushing boundaries in terms of creating designs that are stylish and aesthetically pleasing, yet still ultimately practical and usable. I feel that, when it comes to the sinks market, we are lucky to have a material such as stainless steel that will enable us to keep doing just that.

Reginox leads the market with coloured stainless steel sink

R

eginox’s unique RegiColor collection of coloured stainless sinks represents a first for the sinks industry and has been introduced following many years of research and development by Reginox’s Holland-based factory.

RegiColor offers the perfect blend of colour combined with the slimline profile of stainless steel and is set to revolutionise the future of sinks. It offers all the benefits of steel, such as longevity, ease of maintenance and a low profile, yet features

the colour and high-end sleek appearance associated with granite. The range is available in three stock colours – Arctic White, Midnight Sky and Sahara Sand – but can be produced to any bespoke colour on special request with a six to eight week leadtime.

Reginox’s RegiColor sinks are available in five different shapes and sizes, each of which features an on-trend angular design softened by gentle curves. The material, which comes with a five year guarantee, is manufactured from high grade

coated stainless steel and has been extensively tested for chemical and abrasion resistance. RegiColor’s installation versatility is also an appealing factor as all sinks in the range can be integrated, semi-integrated or undermounted, depending on which look which best suits the kitchen.
