Grupo Alvic –

A deliverance of product G

rupo Alvic are Spain’s largest producer of specialist decorative boards, panel components and cabinet doors and lead with great style, innovation, and design. Having great products though is only one part of the equation, you also have to have the ability to get them to the customer on time and have the flexibility to deliver what they want and when they want it. Barry Berman is the agent for Grupo Alvic in the UK “ What was important when looking for distribution in the UK was finding a company that not only understood board distribution but also appreciated what Alvic were trying to achieve with their products and have the faith and patience to build the brand and take on at the beginning a broad range of their innovative finishes.” The end result was to appoint Panelco/Meyer Timber their exclusive distributor in the UK and the range was launched back in September 2014 with twenty-four colours and decors. The decision was not just based on the commitment to the range and quantity of stock but also Panelco's guarantee of a next day delivery service on all orders placed by 5pm, especially as this offer has no minimum order quantity so even one board qualifies for next day delivery. Panelco achieve this by having a fleet of 50 of their own commercial vehicles and operating out of their 1,000,000 sqft warehouse and distribution facility making it ideally situated to service customers across the UK. The logistics team use modern software to manage and plan efficient routes and can track the vehicles nationwide to ensure that they adhere to the best possible delivery schedules.

The ultimate aim of the operation is to offer their customers an exceptional service which is both quick and problem free.

Focusing back to the product Alvic’s strong commitment to innovation and technological development has seen them firmly establish their flagship product LUXE as the industry standard for the top quality UV lacquered surface which was quickly followed by ZENIT which set the benchmark for a supermatt that was so soft and silky to the touch that it was almost impossible to believe that there were not at least seven coats of lacquer to achieve such an incredible finish. The latest round of investments have seen the further development of the MFC SYNCRON range which has been expanded to include some exciting new and original textures as well as embossed-in-register (EIR) wood grain decors. Following a successful debut by Alvic at KBB in March 2016, September saw Panelco add a further 21 new finishes to their stock range making a grand total of 46 different variations of board surfaces all with matching edge banding, all of which can be viewed in large panel format at the Panelco showroom at Stoke-on-Trent.
