Shapes and sizes to meet any requirement


With a wide range of horizontal and vertical radiators – combined with an extensive choice of colour finishes and outputs – there is no reason why your customer should not have the option of a radiator that exactly meets their needs. PHAM News takes a look at some of the latest additions available from Stelrad.

t’s never been easier to select the right radiator for every room – whether in a new-build home or in a heating system


replacement project – with the latest radiator sizing and heat loss calculator software, combined with probably the widest choice of radiators ever available, from a size and capacity point of view. Together, these should mean there is no excuse for failing to fit exactly the right model for the job in hand. Stelrad’s radiator sizing and


heat loss calculator software is available free online. The company’s Stars system is universally used and has recently been upgraded to be even easier to use (available as a download at www. stelradprofessional.com) while the UK manufacturer’s range of radiators has never been larger. Installers can select from an


extensive range of sizes – both vertical and horizontal – with the traditional P1, K1, P+ and K2 available but now K3s and K4s available too, responding in

particular to the requirements of lower temperature renewable heating systems where the radiators need to be able to deliver higher outputs but not necessarily larger footprints. The flexibility for sizes of


radiators has gone full circle with the arrival of a range of different height radiators as well, to slot under windows, in nooks and crannies around the home – especially in smaller spaces. Stelrad has added 900mm and 1,200mm high radiators as another response to the needs of heat pump driven systems, but also 200mm and 300mm high lowline radiators – in K3 and K4 formats if required – and most recently has introduced a full range of 500mm high Compacts to make the Compact range pretty much relevant to every potential specification.

More heat, less space The arrival of a huge range of vertical radiators has also been a help for specifiers and installers alike. Ideal for slotting into areas where space is at a premium, such as hallways, landings – and even bathrooms and kitchens – vertical models mean that

Cast iron promise Perhaps most interesting is the growth in interest in the traditional radiator ranges that had their heyday many decades ago. The rise and rise of the growing cast iron radiator ranges, and the popularity of the newly released Italian designer column radiator range, shows the increase in demand for the styles of the last century but with the manufacturing quality and colour choices of the modern day. These models provide a heating solution for older homes, enabling period houses and apartments to be spruced up to modern day standards and meeting modern heating expectations, while keeping to traditional looks and style. The days when you could


have any colour radiator in your home, so long as it’s white are long gone! Today you are not limited to a traditional white radiator – there is the freedom to choose the most suitable colour radiator that will complement the colour scheme of a room – and different colours in different rooms if you wish. Last year, Stelrad introduced a


new quicker turnaround service for the supply of some of its


radiators in colour. Initially this new rapid


turnaround service applied to the popular Column and Concord ranges, and to the Classic Towel Rail, Caliente and Concord towel rail products


when ordered in one of the now 55 standard RAL colours and finishes within the huge range of radiators. The lead time has been reduced from the previous standard eight weeks down to just 14 days. Earlier this year, the


company announced phase 2 of the rollout of the same rapid turnaround for coloured radiators from a wider range of its options to include models in its Compact with Style, Planar, Vita Silhouette, Vita Deco, Vita Plan, Vita Vertical, Softline Silhouette, Softline Deco, Softline Plan, Softline Vertical, Henrad Silhouette, Henrad Everest Line, Henrad Plan, Henrad Vertical, Henrad Arno Towel Rail and Henrad Verona Towel Rail products. “The popularity of coloured


radiators is growing hugely, and we are responding to requests from customers for a wider choice of coloured radiators from our ranges to be available in this much-reduced timeframe,” says Chris Harvey. For details of the models
