PHAM NEWS | OCTOBER 2024 30 Gas Boilers
Boiler will meet high hot water demand
Superflow is the name of a new product from Intergas that combines the efficiency of a gas boiler with the convenience of a cylinder in one compact, wall- hung unit. It is designed to meet the high demands of applications such as light commercial food outlets, beauty salons, cafes and restaurants, as well as larger residential homes. The company says that Superflow is able to deliver a constant supply of hot water to multiple outlets simultaneously, without compromising on space or energy efficiency. The range includes two models,
the Superflow 45 and the Superflow 60, catering to different capacity needs and ensuring that businesses of all sizes can benefit from this solution. Equipped with Intergas’s
patented aluminium and copper heat exchanger, Superflow guarantees ‘superior’ heat transfer and minimal heat loss, ensuring an energy efficiency rating of ‘A’. Capable of delivering up to
25 litres per minute, Superflow can meet the rigorous hot water demands of many commercial
Assurance for housebuilders and social housing providers
The Baxi Assure 500 2 has been designed with social housing providers and housebuilders in mind, providing best-in-class SAP performance and maximum efficiency for refurbishment and new build projects. Designed specifically to make installation and maintenance run even
smoother, the boiler comes in output options of 24 to 36kW for combi boilers and 15 to 24kW for system models, each supplied in fully recyclable packaging. Each model includes a pre-heated siphonic condensate trap, which prevents freezing and boiler lockouts in adverse winter conditions, a combined Pressure Relief Valve (PRV) and separate primary boiler drain for quick, simple draining and maintenance access, plus removeable colour coded wiring blocks for easier wiring. Efficiency levels can be further enhanced by using Baxi’s range of
compatible accessories, such as its Flue Gas Heat Recovery (FGHR) unit, and In-Flue Outdoor Sensor (IFOS) for weather compensation. ◼

settings, ensuring that kitchen, utility, bathroom and en-suite facilities can all receive hot water simultaneously. An illuminated touch screen
display makes operating and controlling the unit intuitive, simplifying daily operations for business owners and staff. “We understand the challenges
faced by businesses in managing their hot water supply, especially in industries where both reliability and efficiency are critical,” says Gary Rudd, Intergas MD. “That’s why we’ve developed Superflow, to provide a solution that meets these needs and offers the peace of mind that comes with a reliable and efficient hot water system.” ◼

Providing easy access to all components
Designed with ease of installation and maintenance in mind, the ecoTEC plus combi and system boilers from Vaillant have all components easily accessible from the front of the boiler. With data recorded on the performance of key components, installers can also access information remotely and diagnose any issues before visiting the site. If the ecoTEC plus detects a
fault, it will try and correct itself 10 times. If it can’t correct itself, it will run at a reduced output and alert the homeowner and the installer.
Space saving solution also saves energy
New from Viessmann Climate Solutions UK is the Vitocrossal 200 CI3 range of high- efficiency, low-emission, commercial gas condensing boilers. Said to be ideal for modernisation projects or buildings where space is
limited, each unit is just 750mm wide, occupying 1.07m2
of floor space – a
reduction of 55% compared to previous Vitocrossal 200 models. There are eight output sizes
available, from 80 to 640kW, and the option of an integrated cascade operation up to 5,120kW. Energy efficiency and reliable performance can be assured thanks to the boiler’s single or dual modulatingMatriX cylinder burner with stainless steel heat exchanger, as well as an automatic combustion controller that contributes to ease of commissioning and increased operational safety. The Vitocrossal 200 CI3 has a
standard seasonal efficiency of up to 94.8% and NOx emission levels below 27mg per kWh. A self- calibrating sensor automatically adjusts the MatriX burner to match different types of gas, so natural gas and LPG can both be used. Additionally, the product is
better condensation. For ease of installation, the
boiler is supplied with integrated wheels and a practical transport pallet, as well as a simplified electrical- connections terminal easily accessible at the back. Complete accessory packs are available for room-sealed installations and twin solutions and all components can be easily reached from both the front and the rear. Viessmann’s ViGuide app
for installers makes the intuitive commissioning process easy, with the option of using a smartphone or tablet instead of the integrated digital control panel. It also gives contractors direct access to optimise and monitor the system remotely on an ongoing basis. The Vitocrossal 200 CI3 is
prepared for any future changes in gas fuels. Performance is further
enhanced by the boiler’s large modulation range of 1:10, which offers greater efficiency at partial load. It also has two return connections as standard, so that there can be low- and high- temperature circuits if desired, with a lower temperature return for
the first of Viessmann’s commercial boiler offerings to be integrated into its One Base climate- and energy-management platform with built-in WiFi. One Base can easily be connected to other digital building management systems (BMS) to provide a single, user-friendly control and monitoring solution. ◼

See just how easy it is to put a cascade system together
Demonstrating just how quickly a three-boiler cascade can be put together, Ideal Heating Commercial has created a short video using the company’s Evomax 2 boilers. The video takes the viewer step by step through the process, from assembling the frames and mounting the boilers, through to the connections and fitting the pumps, headers kits, insulation and hydraulic separation. The video is time stamped, so each part of the process is clocked and the whole installation being completed in less than 90 minutes. “Installing boilers in a cascade offers several benefits over fitting one
larger boiler, including a high turn-down, easier access to challenging install areas, and it can be a good space saving solution,” states Charlie Mowbray, senior product manager. “However, it can also be more time- consuming. That’s why more and more installers are opting to use our prefabricated frame and header kits, which can save several hours. Our new video not only shows just how quick that can be, but also how easy it is to install a boiler in cascade using a frame and header kit.” To view the video, simply use the following online reader link service: ◼

Incorporating innovative
ionisation technology, IoniDetect, the ecoTEC plus models are able to operate with the most efficient combustion by constantly monitoring the quality of the gas. With the addition of
myVAILLANT connect, the boiler can also be integrated with most smart-home platforms, enabling users to activate their heating system remotely and conveniently via smart mobile devices, as well as offering proactive remote diagnostics and energy management solutions. ◼
