Trade counter supports sustainable bathrooms


Bathroom Spare Parts has opened a new trade counter aimed at professionals in the bathroom industry. The facility, located in Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire, focuses on providing spare parts and repair solutions to promote sustainability by encouraging repairs over replacements. The grand opening hosted Broxbourne Mayor Sherrie McDaid (pictured, centre, before cutting the ribbon) and MP Lewis Cocking. They were given a tour of the facility and shown the products and techniques that enhance energy effi ciency and water conservation, helping businesses and homeowners reduce their environmental impact and utility costs. Online kitchen and bathroom retailer Plumbworld is celebrating its 25th anniversary after achieving £102.8 million in sales, marking a signifi cant milestone with £100 million in sales. The company saw a 15% growth last year, with an EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization) profi t of £9.6 million. Founded in 1999 by the current CEO James Hickman (pictured), Plumbworld has adapted to changes in the internet and retail landscape while maintaining a focus on quality and aff ordability. Hickman sold the business to Grafton Group plc in 2006, bought it back in a management buy-out in 2018, and sold it to the current owners, Highbourne Group, in 2022.
