PHAM NEWS | JUNE 2025 10 News Review

New D-carbonise partner status

As part of a major update to its Commercial Installer and Partner Programme, Daikin has launched a new D-carbonise Partner Status which is designed to recognise those installer businesses that are actively reducing their carbon emissions and embracing sustainability. The new status offers formal recognition for commercial installers on a net zero journey, equipping them with tools to win new projects and attract sustainability-conscious clients. Partners will be able to gain access to a number of

benefi ts, including Daikin’s Business Development Fund (BDF), which supports green accreditations and independently verifi ed Carbon Reduction Plans. D-carbonise Partners will also receive 100% BDF

funding for Partner With Confidence services and 50% towards dual-branded charity or sponsorship initiatives. They can also earn £5/kg into their BDF for reclaiming R410A refrigerant. Other benefi ts include increased visibility through Daikin’s installer locator, promotion via case studies, exposure to key accounts and networking opportunities at events and seminars. To become a D-carbonise Partner, installers must

meet a set of criteria intended to ensure that all partners uphold the highest standards of environmental and operational excellence. To qualify, companies must have a verifi ed carbon reduction or net zero plan in place and achieve at least Bronze level in the Supply Chain Sustainability School. Membership of at least one recognised industry body such as Refcom Elite, BESA, Quidos F-Gas Premium, MCS or equivalent is also required, as is maintaining a social value plan that

demonstrates measurable positive impacts on society and the environment. It is also expected that partners will be purchasing Daikin Decarbonisation products including R-32 VRV, CZ-HT High Temperature Commercial Heat Pump, and Partner with Confi dence services, as well as collaborating with Daikin on case studies where possible. Finally, F-Gas records must be shared on a system-by-system basis with detailed information about each system type, initial charge, additional charges and end-of-life recovery data. The launch of the D-carbonise Partner Status comes alongside a wider update of the Commercial Installer and Partner Programme, which includes higher spend criteria, matched by new benefi ts at every level of the Certified Installer and D1 Partner programme, all underscored by Daikin’s no-fuss warranty commitment. ◼ phamnews.co.uk/625/07

A new survey from the Heat Pump Association has highlighted the range of sector support available from its members to help newly qualifi ed installers successfully enter the workforce. The HPA has created an infographic that outlines the types of support available from manufacturers, distributors and training providers, as well as feedback from respondents on the eff ectiveness of current support and plans for future initiatives. Last year saw a record

9,062 individuals successfully complete a recognised heat pump qualification. However, HPA modelling suggests that up to 39% of those who complete the training do not always go on to actively install heat pumps immediately. The survey of HPA member

organisations found that nearly 80% of respondents currently provide additional support for installers who have recently completed training, with over 60% of off erings available at no extra cost.

The most popular types of support include

in-person

mentoring, digital support via an app and training packages which may include sales and customer engagement guidance, service and maintenance training, or a review of installations. 50% of respondents indicated they have plans to expand their support off erings in the future. Laura Thomas, chair of the

HPA Training Working Group, says: “As an industry we must continue to work together to expand and improve the support available, ensuring more installers can transition from completing a qualifi cation to actively installing heat pumps.” ◼ phamnews.co.uk/625/08
