News Circular Computing launches remanufacturing-as-a-Service

CIRCULAR COMPUTING has rolled out its latest Remanufacturing-as-a-Service (RaaS) to tackle the growing e-waste crisis.

The company will take in laptops from businesses and send them through its Circular Remanufacturing Process to give them a second life, which the company claim is greatly improved from that of current methods of refurbishment. Rod Neale, Founder and CEO, Circular Computing says: “We now have the technology and expertise to be able to prolong the lifecycle of existing technology to ensure precious natural resources are protected and old hardware does not add to the concerning e-waste crisis. “Our new RaaS offers larger companies the opportunity

to reuse their hardware at scale, more sustainably and cost effectively, without a loss in quality or performance.” Steve Haskew, Head of Sustainability at Circular Computing says: “High-quality, reliable second-life hardware is the solution to the growing e-waste crisis our industry faces and the mounting sustainability challenges that organisations in every industry are dealing with.

Commvault enables early threat detection and zero loss strategy with Metallic ThreatWise

COMMVAULT has released its Metallic ThreatWise, an early warning system that surfaces unknown and zero-day threats to minimise compromised data and business impact. ThreatWise uses decoys to bait bad actors into engaging

fake resources and spot threats in production environments. “In surveying enterprise IT directors with direct knowledge and influence on their company’s data security strategies, the results we found were eye opening. It is very clear that many IT teams do not have adequate tools in place to detect ransomware attacks on production environments early enough in the attack chain to neutralise stealthy cyber- attacks before they cause harm,” said Jon Oltsik, Senior Principal Analyst and Fellow, Enterprise Strategy Group. “Ransomware has revolved around encryption for a long time, but newer extortion techniques like exfiltration go beyond rapidly spreading malware, and data recovery alone cannot help if sensitive business data is leaked to the Dark Web.”

“Data recovery is important, but alone it’s not enough. Just a few hours with an undetected bad actor in your systems can be catastrophic,” said Ranga Rajagopalan, Senior Vice President, Products, Commvault. “By integrating ThreatWise into the Metallic SaaS portfolio, we provide customers with a proactive, early warning system that bolsters their zero- loss strategy by intercepting a threat before it impacts your business.”

“The introduction of our new RaaS offering democratises access to the innovative remanufacturing processes we have built over years of experience, meaning businesses can make substantial changes to their operations and meet important ESG targets without spending more money.” Martin Townsend, Director for British Standards Institution

Centre of Excellence for Sustainability, adds: “We awarded the BSI Kitemark to Circular Computing for its revolutionary process of delivering remanufactured laptops, which can clearly positively change how the tech industry operates. We’re therefore excited to see the launch of this new offering which we hope will encourage further businesses to adopt sustainable technology habits through ‘equal to or better than new’ second- life hardware.” Companies from all industries are facing similar pressures, to go net-zero and cut costs while continuing the need for the latest technology to serve their workforce. Reducing Scope 3 emissions is a key step towards a carbon neutral future and the launch of RaaS by Circular Computing is an innovative approach to help organisations further their ESG focus.

Brigantia’s adds free extra training to KnowBe4 as a Managed Service solution

BRIGANTIA’S KNOWBE4 as a Managed Service solution now has 300 extra pieces of security awareness training at no additional cost. Brigantia partners

that are already selling Brigantia’s KnowBe4 as a Managed

Service (KaaMS) solution now have access to the enhanced Compliance Plus module at no additional cost. Brigantia Sales Director, Angus Shaw, said: “As the only Master KnowBe4 MSP in the UK and Ireland Brigantia takes the strain and delivers a managed service solution for our 1200 strong MSP partner community to resell on to their client bases. Once Brigantia’s KaaMS is up and running all a partner must remember to do is bill their customer monthly! This frees up the partners time and makes for a much stickier solution with low annual churn rates.” Director of InfoSec services at Brigantia, Chris Speight adds: “Compliance Plus will be enabled automatically on all Brigantia’s existing MSP partner accounts and pulled through to their clients’ consoles, so they will not need to do anything. Partners could monetize this as an upgrade for their clients, or simply inform them about the added value they are providing them through the managed service”
