rian Tomas, as the channel chief is responsible for ensuring that channel offerings are tailored to fit the needs of Malwarebytes’ partners both current and future. Before
Malwarebytes, he was WatchGuard Technologies’ Regional Vice President of US Channel Sales, where he helped to oversee the integration of WatchGuard Technologies and Panda Security’s solution portfolio, following Panda Security’s recent acquisition. Prior to that, he served as Arista Networks’ Director of Worldwide Channel Sales.

How is the landscape of cybersecurity in the channel changing? As more businesses adopt digital transformation strategies, and
more data is hosted online, it’s unsurprising that the risk of cyber- attacks is increasing in the channel. You only need to read the news to understand the gravity and volume of attacks across businesses of all sizes that take place every day. Te emergence of hybrid working means that businesses need
to be extra vigilant and address the vulnerabilities that exist. Tere are undoubtedly security gaps in every business, and in some cases, they are only becoming wider as the landscape continually evolves, particularly as the types of attacks are evolving too. From ransomware to malware, it’s not easy to always be one step ahead of the threats. However, while the channel is becoming a riskier place and the
types of threats are evolving, businesses shouldn’t be overly worried and feel the need to navigate it alone. Tis is because experts and partners are continuously developing a range of effective, intuitive, and inclusive solutions that help fight the channel’s corner and ensure that businesses aren’t leſt high and dry.
Why is cybersecurity important in the channel? Cyberattacks have the potential to seriously disrupt supply chains and have an impact on critical service delivery. Picture this; you’ve just celebrated winning a new contract and have a deadline to hit, but the manufacturer experiences a cyber-attack. Te production line is brought to a total standstill, and you’ve wasted months of valuable time and money, that could’ve been invested in your business. It’s therefore critical that cybersecurity is a
