Talk us through getting this off the ground from idea to launch. What was the motivation behind creating Marches Parts Co., even down to the name you chose? The need for Marches Parts Co. to exist initially came from the good folk over at PNW Components in the US. Aaron, Emily & Andrew reached out to us asking for advice on a possible UK distribution fit for them. The initial question was, who did we think was good for them, basically. If we fast-forward several conversations, it became apparent that they wanted us to distribute their quality components.

This is when and how Marches Parts Co. was born. We actually had a short list of distros in mind for them, but it soon became apparent they wanted us to do it ourselves. Flattered and excited, we thought we had better get things rolling. Then came the name. We both live in and around ‘Shropshire & the Marches’. The Welsh Marches (Welsh: Y Mers) is an imprecisely defined area along the border between England and Wales, with fantastic trails for both gravel and mountain bikes. It is an area we both hold dear to our hearts. We both liked the name, and it stuck.
