What’s your perspective on the helmet market in the UK, and how do you believe the fizik range differentiates itself within that? While the UK helmet market is a busy one with a wide variety of brands, there was definitely space for fizik. The range is very focused, and each helmet has been meticulously designed with the customer in mind. fizik helmets don’t and won’t cover as wide a range as some brands, such as Urban and Kids helmets, but this allows the brand to be focused on the consumers already familiar with the fizik brand.

Considering the evolution of helmet technology and design, what are some of the more subtle yet significant innovations within the fizik range that people might not initially notice? Performance features influence the shape of the helmet shell, the choice of EPS provider, the use of MIPS Air Node and the strategic positioning of every vent. It’s easy to overlook the testing and research that happens behind the scenes. For instance, the spoiler at the rear of the Kudo Aero helmet delays airflow separation, further enhancing aerodynamic performance.

There are also features which are concealed from view. Beneath the MIPS, there’s fit adjustability thanks to the

Custom Crown Adjustment, which forms part of the fit system. It’s indicated by three positions on the rim of the helmet. These three positions signpost three pinpoints on each side of the helmet, which can be used to adjust the shaping of the retention system depending on the rider’s head shape. For instance, for a more oval shape, place the red plug in position one on each side of the helmet or for a rounder fit, use position three. There are also spare plugs included just in case they get misplaced. It’s a great feature to demonstrate in store when talking through the fizik helmets with a customer, and it features on all of the helmets in the range. Another key feature is the rear light. Kudo, Kudo Aero

and Kassis helmets are all supplied with a rear light in the box. The rear of the helmet has been designed for the light to fit securely without affecting aerodynamics. It adds an additional safety feature, with two modes offering additional visibility for the rider. Out of the box, the helmet has a reflector installed, which can be replaced by the light, or there is a fizik logo plug included if the customer chooses not to use the light or reflector.

When we consider the shifting trends in the popularity of disciplines in the UK, have any initial trends emerged in terms of which fizik
