Paul Walsh, Cycling Industries Europe CEO
Cycling Industries Europe (CIE) has appointed Paul Walsh as its new Chief Executive Officer. With over 12 years of industry association management experience, with positions in aviation and research and innovation associations, Walsh will lead CIE through its next phase of growth, leveraging his extensive knowledge of EU innovation policy to advance CIE’s mission to accelerate the uptake of cycling across Europe. CIE is positive that with Walsh’s leadership, it will continue to have an instrumental role as a key stakeholder in shaping EU mobility and industrial policy. Walsh says he is honoured to
step into this role at such a pivotal moment.
Charles Russell, Senior Management, Kona
Kona Bicycles has announced that Charles Russell has joined the senior management team.
Since retaking control of Kona
Bicycles in May 2024, Kona have reported that Dan and Jake have been bringing back some of the experienced and respected Kona staff from Kona 1.0, including recent returnees to the US sales team, Adam Clark (US sales manager), Dale Plant (Alaska, New England, Michigan) and Joe Hamilton (Southeast) to take advantage of the fantastic growth opportunities in the bicycle industry in the coming years. Kona says they remain committed
to building industry-leading bikes in mountain, gravel, transportation, youth and e-mobility.
Ashley Wheaton, Cycling UK Chair of Trustees
As a passionate cyclist and experienced leader, Ashley brings a wealth of experience from the worlds of tech, entrepreneurship and education. His career includes time at Microsoft, founding and selling his own software business and now as Vice-Chancellor at the University College of Estate Management. Ashley takes over from Janet
Atherton, who stepped down last summer due to ill health. Janet has sadly passed away, but her contributions will be remembered with tremendous respect and affection. Wheaton says he is fully committed
to improving cycle safety, lifting the benefits of cycling for society and getting involved with the projects which drive behavioural change
