“I’m writing this in the midst of the EVE Fanfest in Reykjavik (more next issue), which means that, as soon as I get home I’ll probably resubscribe to the venerable space MMO in preparation for the just-announced Vanguard FPS module, which, as an old fan of Dust 514 (yes, they do exist) has made me very hopeful for New Eden’s future. Starfield? What Starfield?

Richie Shoemaker, Editor

“Hey! If I’ve got a couple of hours to spare, I’ll tend to drop into Baldur’s Gate 3 and continue the adventure of Stamets Goldtweaker, charlatan and rogue with a heart of gold. Otherwise you’ll probably find me dodging blocks on UFO: Unidentified Falling Objects, or robbing those new vaults in the latest Fortnite season. Outside of games I’ve been reconnecting with my love of comics, as well as watching sci-fi shows like Invasion and the Quantum Leap reboot, which are great!”

Vince Pavey, Staff Writer

“Between my usual games of Marvel Snap, I’ve been spending my time since gamescom playing Immortals of Aveum, and doing my best to stop the Everwar and save the realms. I’ve also been listening to the new album Everything Is Alive by Slowdive, which is some classic shoegaze rock, as you’d expect from a band that has always worn its love of The Cure on its sleeve.”

Pet: Lia Owner: Leo Zullo Owner’s job: Managing Director at Wired Productions

“Lia is a Chocolate Lab, that is Wired Productions’ office motivator despite being less than a year old. She grew up at the office, becoming a huge part of its daily routine, whether that’s giving someone love and support or creating a trip hazard as she slept in the middle of the office floor. She loves the entire team, almost as much as dog food!”

Pet: Maisie Owner: Adele Richards Owner’s job: Social Media Coordinator at Sumo Group

“Maisie is a very lively lurcher-collie cross who is just over a year old. She loves running around just as much as she loves being a couch potato – and she makes for the best cuddle companion during Adele’s breaks at work. When not sleeping, Maisie loves chomping on carrots and stretching as far as she can on a fluffy carpet - which is very easy with her super long limbs!”

Pet: Crowley Owner: Dave Smith Owner’s job: Programmer at Red Kite Games

“Crowley is a curious ragdoll who is just short of two years old. This little feline companion has an insatiable curiosity and a love for outdoor exploration. He eagerly accompanies his owners on hikes and walks, often in his personal backpack, relishing most moments spent in new places in nature. Although Crowley enjoys his outdoor adventures, he also cherishes quality time spent indoors. His favourite treat is Catit Creamy and he dislikes an empty food bowl and baths.”
