“The plan was to complete Callisto Protocol before the Dead Space remake came along, but illness, Christmas, a magazine deadline and more illness put paid to that idea. Sadly, I’ve not been playing a whole lot else, but I have been reading more than usual: The first issue of PC Zone magazine (from 1993), and Totally Wired: The Rise and Fall of the Music Press (2022). It’s research!

“It’s finally happened, and I’ve gone a bit cold on Fortnite. I’m not keen on the way the new weekly challenges are on a timer, and being told when to play instead of just playing when I want to play makes it feel like I’ve been given homework. With my new free time I’ve been playing a lot of indies, including Vengeful Guardian: Moonrider, which is an amazing game that reminds me of the Mega Man X series.”

Batman is a Boston Terrier, although Matt’s family think the breeder lied and he’s actually part pig. He loves nothing more than Baileys, slurping ice cream and sun bathing. He’s battled cancer twice and only lost his jawbone - no big deal!

Ilka has three legs, but doesn’t let it stop her living her best life. When not sleeping in the office at home, she likes to sit outside and watch the world go by. Ilka also loves to chase sticks and will play fetch if she’s not being too lazy!

May is the most confident out of the pair of crested geckos owned by Owen, meaning that she’s the only one that was willing enough to be held for a picture. She likes to hide behind leaves, bask in a heat lamp, and eat bugs (in that order). What a life!
