I AM A GRADUATE TECHNICAL ARTIST working on Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord, this is my first ever title and I’m very excited to be working on it! I mostly work on our tools, on optimisation and supporting our team of artists with whatever they need. At nDreams, everyone is very open-
minded and cheerful. My colleagues made me feel very welcome and I really enjoy being in the office. I really appreciate how everyone I work with treats me with respect despite the fact I am at the beginning of my career. Because of this, I’m very comfortable voicing my opinions as I know that the suggestions I make will be considered. The nDreams Academy has been very
helpful in developing a skill set that I can use in the long-term. I’ve been assigned a mentor who I find very inspiring and who will always go the extra mile to teach me. I’ve been given the right mix of responsibility and freedom to explore systems myself which has made me more confident. I like that everyone in the team is so keen on learning and improving.
I AM SENIOR GAMEPLAY PROGRAMMER, working on features such as player movement or checkpoint systems. But really, I do a little bit of everything. I am currently in charge of making sure our work is at parity across multiple platforms. I’ve been impressed with the
collaboration and communication in the team as we’re a remote studio but have great ways of staying connected. There’s an excellent system to drop in and out of video calls, replicating that impromptu meeting at someone’s desk or quick chat in the kitchen. Everyone is encouraged to join if they can, which makes cross- discipline communication easier. We also have a great, really visual system for showing our sprint progress, where we are all encouraged to give feedback whenever possible, which helps when working remotely. I really like the people I work with
as well as the work/life balance that the studio encourages. We are a tight knit team and really down to earth. Elevation have been great with flexibility too – being able to pick up the kids every now and then has been a godsend!
