Critical Path Nordic Games 2022
Speakers from EA, Epic, Atomhawk, Supermassive, Kickstarter, Xsolla, Mohawk and Talenthouse are just a few that make up the not-very-Nordic-sounding contingent that will be traveling to Slagthuset in Malmö, Sweden on 17-20 May. Those with less distance to travel include representatives from Remedy, IO Interactive, Supercell, Rovio, Massive and Sharkmob, among many others. In short, an impressive roster of game industry talent, both global and local, will be sharing secrets up in Sweden. The three day event, which will also be accessible online, will culminate in the Nordic Game Awards. Last year’s big winner, for those that missed at, was Mørkredd from Hyper Sonic Games.

Vampire: The Masquerade -
Swansong Not including the battle royale-inspired Blood Hunt, there have been five Vampire: The Masquerade games released over the last couple of years, all of them heavy on the narrative and light on the role-playing. Swansong aims to redress the balance between World of Darkness’ two dominant pillars, offering up an Unreal Engine-powered third-person narrative RPG that has you controlling three vampire characters in an adventure that might be the closest yet to the tabletop game. It’s not Bloodlines 2, of course, but it might be the closest to it we’ll get to it for a while.

Dota 2 Stockholm Major
If you miss your flight home from the Nordic Games Conference, or have a couple of days to spare, it’s only a six hour train journey to Stockholm to witness the first major event in the Dota 2 calendar to have a live audience in more than two years. The tournament, which boasts a half million dollar prize pool, will conclude the Spring Tour of the Dota Pro Circuit 2021-2022 season. Points earned will count towards qualification for The International 11, Dota 2’s flagship tournament set for August (with its own trifling $45m prize fund).
