I’m working through the new Lego Star Wars with my son for nostalgia reasons: He was five when we completed the very first game together on PS2, and it’s very much been a role reversal this time around. Now 20, he’s the one tutting and solving all the puzzles and I’m having the tantrums when the time comes to stop.

Elden Ring has finally loosened its hold on me – so of course, I’m replaying Bloodborne. I have to admit there’s some satisfaction in being noticeably better at this than I was when it first released. I may not be advancing much in life, but at least I’m getting better at video games in the most meaningless way imaginable.

Keeping as topical as ever, I’ve been spending my time with Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Lockdown might be well and truly over, but someone has to collect all those fossils. Beyond that, I’ve been playing Gunstar Heroes – just in case you were worried I was playing anything recent.
