Salt and Sacrifice
Six years in the making, Salt and Sacrifice is the follow-up to 2016’s well-received 2D soulslike Salt and Sanctuary, and comes just at the right time to catch those left bemused and battered from having completed Elden Ring and who may be wanting more of the same. The game, which is coming to PlayStation and PC (exclusively via Epic), once again puts you in the sabatons of a Marked Inquisitor, with the aim to rid the cursed land of Mages. New to the sequel is online multiplayer for 2-player co-op and faction-based PvP.
ska-studios.com Evil Dead: The Game
Don’t let the suffix confuse you: this is the tenth Evil Dead game to be released and, would you believe it, the second to be called Evil Dead: The Game (the first came out for iOS in 2011). More promisingly, it’s the first Evil Dead game to be released for PC and console since 2005’s Regeneration and comes by way of Saber Interactive, who gave us 2019’s very decent World War Z. The game also comes in the wake of the Ash vs The Evil Dead TV series, sharing a number of characters (including Ash, naturally) and likely ties up whatever loose ends remained after the show’s third season. That being the case, perhaps Ash vs The Evil Dead: The Game might have worked better?

Source of Madness
If you can’t get enough eldritch horrors from your Lovecraftian roguelike of choice, Thunderful would like you to take a look at its latest offering, Source of Madness. The game, which releases on all platforms, not only takes its cue from the Cthulhu mythos, its developer Carry Castle (previously responsible for VR physics puzzler Everything Must Fall) has applied the dark magics of procedural generation and AI machine learning to offer an near-infinite menagerie of toothy, tentacled flesh-beasts. Nightmare-fuel for years to come!
