Matt: For those not familiar, tell us about Silver Lining. Ross: We’re a (relatively) new, collaborative publishing house! That’s a lot of words. Here’s why: we believe the rigid, one-size-fits-all publishing model is dead. We work as a flexible partner for game developers, beginning every relationship with a simple question: What do you need? From there, we tailor our support directly around


each team’s unique vision and goals. We work with total transparency and dedication, because we share the exact same objective: ensuring the game does great! While the industry often gets caught up in numbers, many people forget that at the end of the day, gaming is a people business, and our partners are our priority.


Matt: What can you tell us about the key people behind the company? Ross: Silver Lining Interactive was founded by Luke and Joanne Keighran, who bring over 17 years of games publishing leadership as the original founders of Merge Games. They built Silver Lining alongside a core team that shares that same decade-plus history, meaning roughly half of us have worked together for years across major digital and physical releases. During their time at Merge, the team established a strong reputation in

global physicals, famously helping bring indie hits like Dead Cells, Moonlighter, and Streets of Rage 4 to store shelves worldwide, and developing their own successful IP with Smalland. Today, Silver Lining cultivates those long-standing industry relationships as a global publishing partner with a packed digital and retail line-up.


Matt: In your first year you reported multi-million- pound revenue; how did you achieve this so ‘quickly’? Ross: We invoked the dark gods! But seriously though, it came down to a strong


foundation and immediate momentum. We set out to acquire the former Merge Games catalogue, allowing us to preserve and reignite valuable, long-standing industry relationships. Secondly, we
