TheEditor It’s getting hot in here A

s I write this, it is DAMN HOT in here. I feel like I want to get all the people who say Global Warning is a fiction and stand them in my kitchen for five minutes. That’ll learn ‘em.

You’d think that keeping the curtains closed all day long would be the perfect excuse to do some daytime gaming without all that pesky sun reflecting off the room behind me, but it’s actually too hot to sit still long enough to load the PS5 (which just moans about the temperature and shuts down anyway). Even the gerbils have moved out of their ‘bedroom’, stripped off to their underwear and collapsed under the water bottle waiting for me to shake it over them (true story).

I would go for a drive to capitalise on the air con, but the outside of my car is too dangerous to touch for fear of losing all fingerprints (and the inside could cook a turkey in just under 5 seconds). Exaggerate? Moi?!

Anyway, it’s a good time to be writing to you as we’ve finally closed the book on the MCV/DEVELOP Awards for 2026. Did you come? Did you win? Did you have fun?

It was a great event for me, not only because I’ve not been to one before, but because I actually got to host it – talking nonsense and generally acting a tool while talented people collected much-deserved awards. My personal thanks goes to the team of judges who kept things legit.

And with that, my third issue is ready for your hungry eyes. I hope you’re still enjoying the magazine. If you’re not, please email me; I love deleting them while they’re still bold and unread.
