att: Please tell us how you both originally meet? Mathias: We met at GDC 2018 through a friend who knew we had a shared interest in social impact. After


attending Jude’s Playnice dinner at GDC 2019 which was in conjunction with UNEP, I joined the founding team for Playing for the Planet. We stayed in touch, and when Jude interviewed me for ‘Gaming for Good,’ I suggested co-authoring the book, which was published in 2024.


Matt: At what point did the idea of a podcast come into being and what is its purpose? Jude: After the book launch, we realized the landscape was evolving too fast for print. We chose a podcast in order to have in-depth expert guest conversations and to create a live, growing archive. Tencent joined as our Founding Strategic Partner in 2025. We launched our first episode with Bastian Bergmann at Davos in January 2026 - a global stage for world leaders focused on social change. Our purpose is to inspire and galvanise audiences through thought-provoking and insightful conversations and accelerate understanding of gaming as a positive aspect of modern-day culture and learning. Since launch we also signed the Dubai Films and Games Commission as a Headline Partner as we will
