EGX 2024 faced mixed reactions from attendees and industry commentators. While the event provided opportunities for gaming enthusiasts to try out new titles and meet developers, it fell short of expectations in several areas. One of the major criticisms was the smaller scale of the event compared to previous years, in spite of the merging with MCM Comic Con. It’s perhaps telling that while the dates for next year’s MCM Comic Con have been announced, those for EGX 2025 have yet to be revealed. Let’s hope it suggests a return to former glories. We need it to now that WASD is sadly no more.
