GAMAYO AND GAME


REPUBLIC AWARDS  


On 21st November, 450 games industry guests including publishers, platform-holders, investors, media from across the UK alongside studios and independent game developers from across the North gathered at WX in Wakefield for GaMaYo and the Game Republic Awards 2024. The event included 45 fantastic new game demos from Northern studios and indie developers, a retro arcade, a Halo 3 ring of consoles, and roundtables with PQube, ID@Xbox, Curve Games, Plus Accounting, Epic Games, Eaton Smith, Red Kite Games, Mastered, Kando Factory and Escape Technology. The event also included the reveal of the Game Republic Award winners judged by writer Keith Stuart - with Team17 founder Martyn Brown earning Games Legend and Sports Director’s Roger Womack receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award - Other Awards included Best Large Studio to Double Eleven, Best Mid-Sized Studio to Red Kite Games and Best Small Studio to Cooperative Innovations. Revolution Software’s Broken Sword - The Shadow of the Templars: Reforged won Best Indie Game Made In The North from a public vote.
