BAKERY TECHNOLOGY

“The main way that robotics and automation can support compliance is through improved accuracy”

Benefits demonstrated Bells of Lazonby offers a good example to demonstrate the benefits that robotics can bring. The UK-based bakery produces a variety of baked goods for supermarkets and high street coffee shops. Across its two production sites portioned cake and gluten

free slices account for over 50% of Bells of Lazonby’s turnover. With the business close to capacity, but demand increasing it turned to Made Smarter for help. The cake- cutting process was quickly identified as being an area for improvement. Traditionally this process has required a lot of manual handling such as loading, unloading and packaging the products.
