big interview
“If we are going to seduce consumers to snack healthier, it has to taste excellent. It has to be so delicious that they are not interested in going back to the junk snacks”
slice them at a precise thickness so the crunch and the texture is perfect and the colours are vibrant. The colours from the carrots, radishes, okra, and beets shine through and provide an exciting kaleidoscope of textures, shapes, and world flavours to inspire our consumers.
Your snack flavours, such as Green Curry, Tandoori Curry, and Black Truffle, are quite distinctive. How do you come up with these unique flavour combinations? We craft award-winning gourmet snacks made from nutrient dense vegetables in exotic flavours inspired by scrumptious world favours that celebrate diversity and inclusion. It’s important for us to be true to our Singaporean roots. Singapore is a nation that embraces diversity and is an excellent melting pot of cultures and racial harmony.
Could you share some insights into the cultural and culinary inspirations that influence the flavour profiles of your snacks? We want to celebrate that through a single denominator and food is a good medium for that as a universal glue that brings people together, no matter what language we speak. We have grilled Teriyaki from Japan, Green Curry inspired by the Thais, Tandoori Curry from India, and Black Truffle from Europe. Surprisingly, these flavours blend harmoniously with vegetables and accentuates their taste and hopefully gets people to indulge in more vegetables and the colours of the rainbow in their daily lives.
What kind of response have you received from customers who have tried Confetti Snacks for the first time? Astonishment, would be the overwhelmingly singular response from first time consumers. They are shocked that a mushroom could taste this way, or a normally slimy okra could be so light and crunchy and flavoursome. We are guilty and responsible for making a lot more consumers fall in love with vegetables and fruit, and we are extremely committed to continuing this expedition to convert millions to enjoying their colours in the plant kingdom and making more marvellous snacks out of upcycled produce. We are delighted that our fans love the novelty and diversity of the snacks.
Sustainability and reducing food waste are core elements of your brand. How do you hope to impact the food industry’s perception of “imperfect produce” through Confetti Snacks? Confetti elevates rescued colourful produce to tasty nutritious
