uncluttered areas rely on unbroken lines, making built-in and integrated appliances the obvious choice.” A wall of cooking appliances remains a popular

choice – combining a full size multi-function oven with a smaller steam oven, grill combi, warming drawer and perhaps a coffee machine. And CDA offers everything needed to achieve this. One of the brand’s major strengths is in cooking. While one of the newest range of appliances from

Haier is the Series 6, with the Chef@Home oven, the presence sensor turns on automatically giving the user access to the 19-inch full touch control screen. “Haier’s cooking range offers premium products

and high-tech solutions that are also visible in the induction hob range,” adds Chris Grundy, Product Manager – Built-In Cooking, UK and ROI. “Tanks to the PreciProbe Bluetooth temperature probe, which is also included in the Chef@Home oven. A sister to the PreciTaste technology, our induction hob maintains the temperature of the food, automatically choosing the correct power at every stage of cooking.” And it’s not only across Haier, but Candy’s Smart

Steam 70L Oven is another connected ovens also coming with a self-cleaning feature. The Aquactiva system, with vapour action, allows grease deposits in the oven to be easily removed. Just pour 300ml of distilled water on the oven floor and heat it for 30 minutes at 90 degrees. Once the oven has cooled down, wipe away any remains with a wet cloth. Simple! Elsewhere, and this year Hisense is continuing to

launch new built-in appliances within the cooking sector, all brimming with features. Matthew Glynn, Product Marketing Manager at

Hisense, says that cooking is certainly the most popular sector when it comes to built-in. “Tis is where our main focus for the category is,” he says. “Our range of built-in ovens are designed to provide

consumers so much more than the traditional fan 180 degrees setting, and we’ve worked hard to develop our offering to allow additional valuable benefits.”

For example, the 77L larger capacity means that

consumers won’t get caught short when hosting and entertaining guests. Te brand is always tapping into the latest trends, and as such it has introduced an ‘Even Bake’ feature for the budding Bake Off contestant – this enables hot air to move around freely so that food is heated evenly from all sides. Meanwhile, the Pizza Function and Air Frying

capability means that consumers have less appliances clogging up the kitchen – a greater benefit of the simplistic built-in look. It’s another popular category at Beko, too, as Vijay

Bhardwaj, Marketing Director UK and Ireland, explains: “A large proportion of consumers opt for built-in

cooking appliances because they offer a more modern aesthetic design to their kitchen. The benefits are plentiful; ovens can be positioned at eye-level, meaning it is easier for users to access and check on their food, and the sleek, minimalist design of our built-in hobs means there are less areas where dirt and dust can build up so it’s a more hygienic cooking environment.” The brand has introduced more models with its

AeroPerfect cooking technology, which uses a constant stream of airflow in the oven to minimise temperature

fluctuations, ensuring faster, more even cooking results – receiving Which? accreditation in 2021.

The life of luxury Maurizio Severgnini, Managing Director of Bertazzoni UK and Eire, tells ERT: “Cooking is at the very core of what we do – it’s been our passion since we began 140 years ago. “We are traditionally known for range cookers,

however in recent years our built-in ovens have also become well known for providing luxury Italian engineering and design. We only produce multifunction ovens, which can feature either total or part-steam cooking and pyrolytic cleaning functionality, depending on preference. “It’s also important for us to have multiple control

options too, so people can choose to use either knobs or the digital touch-screen.” Bertazzoni’s Modern Series 60cm Electric

Built-In Oven with TFT display (below left) is especially popular with those looking for an easily- controlled operation, thanks to the Bertazzoni Assist functionality. Additional features, such as proofing and dehydrate, render the oven ultra-versatile.
