17 Q&A

Q: Have you found consumer interest in premium kitchen appliances has been affected by events in the last couple of years? Maurizio Severgnini: Te pandemic has seen many consumers diverting investments from leisure activities to home improvement; this has benefitted our sector as a whole and Bertazzoni sales have increased at higher-than-expected levels. Tis high global demand has, however, generated an increase to both logistics and raw material costs, thus challenging the supply chain. During the pandemic consumers have rediscovered

and re-evaluated the benefits of home cooking and spending time with close family members. Tis has resulted in increased searches for high-performing, beautiful appliances with many consumers trading up to more aspirational products.

Q: How does it feel to be celebrating 140 years in business this year? MS: It feels amazing! We are incredibly proud of the Bertazzoni brand and all it has achieved over its 140- year heritage, not least the fact that is it now known worldwide for providing high-quality appliances that promise an enjoyable cooking experience. From humble beginnings, Bertazzoni now operates

in more than 60 markets around the world, including Europe, Asia and America. A lot has happened in the last 140 years so we cannot wait to see what the next century holds!

Q: How will you be celebrating and marking this milestone anniversary?

The company’s HQ today

MS: 2022 in its entirety is a year of celebration for us at Bertazzoni and during this year we have a whole host of things to mark the occasion. From new product launches to our biggest and best stand yet at Salone del Mobile in June. To celebrate the anniversary, the Bertazzoni

family has also published a unique cookbook. It was inspired by their great-grandmother, whose handwritten notebook containing precious family recipes has been passed down through the family over many decades. Each generation has added their own recipes

to the notebook, to create a celebration of the Bertazzoni culture that brings together their love of food, family and engineering across the generations. We’re delighted to be able to share this via our website from June.

Q: Can we look forward to any special product launches you can tell us about? MS: Absolutely! Bertazzoni has added a selection of new range cookers to its portfolio for 2022. Offering stylish Italian design, new enhanced controls and state- of-the-art technology, we’re delighted to welcome four new models to the UK market. Cookers in Bertazzoni’s Professional, Heritage and

Master Series all boast updated features which increase usability and come in a number of different finishes. Te latest Master Series model now features full metal

controls and new satin finish handles, whilst the Professional Series welcomes a 60cm dual fuel model with new controls and handle finishes, a Carbonio finish option and bridging zones on all Induction models. Additionally, new styling with door trims and an additional towel rail and enhanced controls can be found on the new Heritage Series model.
