“Roon is a streaming game-changer, a complete step-change equivalent to Apple’s introduction of the iPhone in 2007,” he says.
“Roon and Innuos – via their range of ZEN CD Ripping music/CD servers – continue to excite and de-clutter the physical media from customers’ homes. With an increasing number of Roon-compatible and Roon-ready devices coming on the market, and with Roon now offering music services from both Tidal and Qobuz, there has never been a more exciting time for customers to stream CD quality and above into their homes.”
Matt Nimmons, Managing Director, CEDIA EMEA
Although 99 per cent of Mr Scott-Simons’ customers have yet to experience Roon when they arrive at Stone Audio, after seeing it demonstrated they tend to want it immediately. This is no surprise when you witness how intelligently and seamlessly Mr Scott-Simons has incorporated the streaming service into store, as part of his demo ethos.
Many of the sound systems set up around the
premises are connected to Roon, allowing him to demonstrate the service on a variety of different two-channel solutions and allowing customers to get hands-on – one of the key advantages over online. Another bricks and mortar advantage is the expert
advice that retailers can impart. As Mr Nimmons explains: “Retailers require specialist expertise and knowledge to understand and install these technologies”.
