Conference that took place in December. Once again, the morning was an invaluable source of information on how to meet the opportunities and challenges facing the electrical retail industry. We had high street champions, digital marketing
W
experts and of course a panel of independent retailers all talking about the changes we’ve seen across the sector and how to future-proof your business after the trials and tribulations of the past two years. Returning to The Grand Connaught Rooms in
London’s Covent Garden, and preceding the prestigious ERT Awards later the same day, at the 2021 Turning Point Live Conference our speakers (pictured above with me) offered an insight into future prospects for the electrical retail sector and shared their advice and best practice about changes to help encourage future growth. It was so great for everyone to come together
at long last. It was starting to feel quite solitary with a lack of industry events and chances to meet up during the pandemic! But to see so many familiar faces at the Conference and the Awards felt like we were really back to normal!
elcome to the March edition of ERT and this month we’re bringing you a round- up of the ERT Turning Point Live
The morning started with Nick Simon from GfK,
returning once again to provide his snapshot of market performance covering TV, audio, smart tech and home appliances. Daniel Todaro from Gekko Field Marketing then
joined me on stage to speak about the current trends in retail and the importance of experiential events and engagement. After this, I welcomed Emma Louise Smith from
Moxie Business Marketing to discuss with me the future of retail and how a true omni-channel model will play a crucial part of the consumer’s shopping journey. Of course, no Turning Point Live Conference
would be complete without a panel of indie retailers, so Darrin Christan, Director of Coopers Home Appliances, Ben Gilks, MD of NE Appliances, and Robert Hughes, Chairman of Hughes Electrical, came together to discuss the big changes they have made during the pandemic to future-proof their businesses. Lastly, we were treated to a special presentation
from Graham Soult, high street champion from retail consultancy
CannyInsights.com; he shared his thoughts on current high street trends and practical steps for retailers to stand out and thrive in competitive markets.
