ANKER INNOVATIONS Advertorial
The Next Era of Consumer AI Won’t Live in the Cloud - It Will Live in Your Earbuds

or years, consumer technology has evolved through iteration. Devices became thinner,
faster,
lighter, and smarter. But despite the rapid pace of advancement, many
products still relied on the same fundamental architecture and assumptions that have shaped electronics for decades: cloud-first processing, reactive interfaces, and incremental performance gains.
At Anker Innovations, we believe the next major leap in consumer technology will not come from doing the same things marginally better. It will come from fundamentally rethinking where intelligence lives and how devices interact with people in real time. That vision took centre stage at this year’s Anker Day, where we unveiled a new generation of AI-powered consumer technology designed to move intelligence directly onto the device itself. The
headline announcement was the
introduction of the Soundcore Liberty 5 Pro and Liberty 5 Pro Max. Two products that showcase what becomes possible when artificial intelligence is no longer dependent on the cloud. At the heart of both products is THUS,
Anker’s proprietary AI chip platform and the foundation for a new era of local, low-latency, always-on intelligence.
Why Local AI Changes Everything For decades, most chips have operated using the same principle: memory and processing exist separately, constantly moving data back and forth. While this format has powered the
modern computing revolution, it also introduced inefficiencies – particularly for small, battery- powered devices.
Cloud AI helped bridge those limitations, but it
created new ones in return: delays, connectivity dependence, energy demands, and growing concerns around privacy and responsiveness. So we designed THUS specifically to solve these problems.
Rather than sending information to external
servers for processing, THUS enables neural networks to run directly on-device. That means AI can operate locally, instantly, and continuously, without relying on cloud infrastructure. This is particularly significant in compact devices where power efficiency and speed are critical. And nowhere is that challenge greater than inside a pair of true wireless earbuds.
Reimagining What Earbuds Can Do The wireless earbud category has matured rapidly over the last five years, but many products still focus on familiar battlegrounds: battery life, sound quality, and noise cancellation. The Liberty 5 Pro was designed to go beyond
those expectations. Positioned as the world’s clearest earbuds for calls, the device combines Anker’s new THUS AI architecture with advanced acoustic engineering to solve one of the biggest frustrations in modern communication: poor call clarity in noisy environments. The earbuds use eight microphones and two bone conduction sensors, alongside a large on-device neural network, to isolate the user’s voice from surrounding noise in real time. Traditional environmental noise cancellation systems rely heavily on conventional signal processing techniques. Liberty 5 Pro replaces much of that process, with AI running directly
inside the earbud itself. The result is significantly cleaner voice capture, even in crowded or unpredictable environments such as trains, city streets, cafés, or airports. That breakthrough recently earned the Liberty 5 Pro a Guinness World Records title, recognising it as the world’s clearest earbuds for calls powered by the Anker THUS AI chip.
AI That Enhances Your Music - In Real Time While call clarity is a major focus, music playback is another area where local AI is creating entirely new possibilities. Wireless audio has always involved
compromise. Bluetooth compression removes portions of audio detail during transmission, reducing fidelity compared to wired listening. With Liberty 5 Pro, Anker developed AI Sound Enhancement - a neural network trained on full-resolution audio that rebuilds portions of the sound lost during Bluetooth transmission. Running directly on the THUS chip, the system works in real time while music is playing. Combined with Soundcore’s HearID personalised sound profiling technology, the earbuds adapt playback specifically to the listener’s hearing profile, creating a more tailored and immersive listening experience. The result is not simply louder or more powerful sound, but smarter sound - audio that dynamically reconstructs and personalises itself around the user.
The Rise of Truly Responsive Devices One of the clearest demonstrations of local AI’s impact is speed. Most voice-controlled earbuds today depend
on cloud processing. A voice command is captured by the earbuds, transmitted to a smartphone, sent to remote servers for interpretation, and then returned before an action can take place; a process which typically takes several seconds.
