Cismea Global was another big exhibitor, with the Deuro brand of SDA part of its vast portfolio. The company describes the Deuro offer as “European inspired” in terms of design and includes some retro shapes and colours, as well as unusual products alongside the air fryers (nine models + colours), kettles and toasters. Like the wireless electric cheese grater! A really stylish-looking product (with rounded edges sitting on a compact charging station and available in yellow, mint green, grey and white).

Wired & Well expo and is often a platform for smaller brands. Highlights included: Aether smart air purifier from Song Tain Co in Taiwan (including a portable version); Faitron HeatsBox from Switzerland – a portable electric lunchbox; and Blok, co-founded by Alissa and Tony Frick from the US, a cutting board with integral digital display so you can learn to cook healthy meals from expert chefs. It’s a neat idea; you subscribe (approx. $10 per month) to a cooking community for on- demand cooking classes. The board itself is around $700. Always food for thought!


Facts & figures on the show • Three full show days – Sunday 17 to Tuesday 19 March; • 1,648 exhibitors from 38 countries; • 400 exhibitors who were new or returning after an absence. New brands included Cricut, Cismea Global, Gtech and RKW; • Nearly 30,000 home and housewares professionals from over 120 countries.


US stores in attendance included: Aldi, Amazon, Bloomingdales, Costco, Home Depot, JC Penney, Macy’s, Pottery Barn, QVC, Target, The Container Store, TJX, Walgreens, Walmart, Wayfair, Williams Sonoma. UK stores included: John Lewis, Lakeland, Tesco. “The 2024 show built on the success of last year’s show with total square feet of exhibition space being slightly higher,” said Derek Miller, President and CEO of the International Housewares Association. “The change to the format was very positive, making the Show incredibly efficient, now consolidated into two halls, was very well received by both exhibitors and buyers.”


There were some SDA brands exhibiting in South Hall too, particularly if they had non-electrical products in their line-up. This included RKW’s Tower brand alongside its cookware and heritage table-top brands exhibiting for the first time, and Dr.HOWS from South Korea with cookware and kitchenware in contemporary shapes and pastel colours. These were matched with some innovative SDA like the DoranDoran three-in-one electric cooker (hotplate, deeper pan and then a tray with lid) or the Twinkle stove that resembled


Spotlight on… Made by Gather Based in New York, Made by Gather has made a splash with collaborations across a number of its brands including Crux with US music producer and DJ, Marshmello. That collab won an award from Esquire in 2022 for its Crux brand air fryer. Most of the product portfolio is centred around cooking and the company is actively looking to expand its international retail business, with products already available in the UK, Germany, France, Italy and Spain.
