All we really need is the warmer weather to hit and suddenly customers will be looking to invest in the latest garden gadgets and outdoorsy appliances. Electrical retailers may not be the first place people think of to shop for these, but over the years dealers have diversified and started offering different solutions. And with such a blend of interior and exterior home spaces these days, there’s no reason why shopfloor space can’t be dedicated solely to Summertime sales…
A Cleaning
First of all, you always have to get the garden ready for guests, and customers are looking for solutions to keeping their patios, gutters and facias in tip top condition. This will always be a breeze with the right appliance.
Known for its 140-year heritage in floorcare, British brand Ewbank, available exclusively in the UK via Bluestem Group, offers its newly-released MULTISWEEP Push Sweeper (EWPSM020). From sweeping up Autumn leaves, clearing fallen petals from the lawn, or removing debris from the garage, it’s designed for both indoor and outdoor use on multiple surfaces, including lawns, decking, artificial grass, play areas, warehouses, driveways. The MULTISWEEP’s manual push-along operation means it doesn’t need to be connected to a power source, therefore it costs nothing to run and has no need for cumbersome, restrictive cables. Bar Pressure Washer EW6140 (pictured right) offers versatility as well as power; it has four wheels for pull-along action or can be stood up on its base like a traditional pressure washer. For extra portability and convenience, the 140 Washer also features a self-priming system, meaning it can use water from any source, including water butts.
As well as blasting dirt away from patios, decking and driveways, Ewbank’s selection of pressure washers are also effective at cleaning house exteriors and clearing out blocked gutters in a flash. The accessories that come on the AQUABLAST 160 Bar Pressure Washer (EW6160) help with this; there’s a patio brush, a rotating brush and also a turbo nozzle, but then the Snow Foam attachment will make light work of cleaning the family car!
Cooking
Long Summer evenings call for al fresco dining, and while that used to mean cranking up the BBQ, the market today has a much wider range of outdoor cooking appliances… If a little slice of Italian culture is what your customers are after, then Witt’s new award- winning gas-powered pizza ovens could do the trick. The ETNA Fermo (pictured top left) – available in a choice of black, stone, graphite or orange easy-to-clean matt texture colourways – reaches 500 degrees in under 18 minutes, and it’ll cook stone-baked pizzas in less than 90 seconds.
