ANALYSIS: OUTDOOR LIVING Home Entertainment

of playback. An edge lighting feature adds a subtle extra dimension to its performance. When paired with the TV, LG’s WOW

20

Also known as the 27LX5, the LG StanbyME Go features a 27-inch touch display and boasts a 20W four-channel speaker system actually built into its carrying case. It offers up to three hours of battery-powered use, just long enough to fit in a screening of Oppenheimer with your cucumber sandwiches, but can be connected to an external power supply for longer if you want to box set binge on the beach. The TV itself rotates from landscape to portrait, but can also be used in table mode when the screen lies flat in the base of the case.

In every other respect, this is a regular 1080p

telly, complete with webOS smart platform. It sells for £1,199.

LG has also launched a partnering portable Bluetooth speaker. The XT7S can be paired to the StanbyME TV and used as a mini soundbar, or taken out and about and used as a portable sound system with up to 16 hours

Orchestra feature creates a unified audio setup, utilising both the portable and the TV’s speakers. Available in Korea and the US currently, ERT had a hands-on with the diminutive portable at LG’s HQ in Weybridge, so hopefully it’s not too far from a UK launch. Taking a more low tech approach to music- on-the-go are We are Rewind and FiiO. The latter has introduced the CP13, a throwback portable compact cassette player, updated with metallic case and USB-C rechargeable battery. Meanwhile, We Are Rewind has its own version, including a black and yellow ‘Back to Black Amy’ limited edition. There’s also a bundled player with an iconic orange on-ear headphones special edition. Could this be the Summer that the infamous Walkman returns?!

When it comes to outdoor entertainment, consumers want to be able to rely on sturdy apparatus that can withstand the elements. And for outdoor TV mounting, Sanus has a range of options. It has recently launched two new products… The Outdoor Premium Tilt TV Wall Mount, Model VODLT1-B2

(pictured right), features the company’s exclusive patented Virtual Axis Fingertip tilting technology, allowing for smooth, easy tilting motion by balancing the weight of the TV on itself. For the best picture when the sun does decide to appear, users can tilt the TV up or down with just the touch of a finger to reduce glare and reflections.

For homeowners needing a greater viewing angle adjustment, the Sanus VODLF125-B2 Large Outdoor Full- Motion Mount (left) is ideal. In addition to its weatherproof design and ease of levelling and height adjustments after installation, the full-motion mount

extends 63cm from the wall with up to 44 degrees of swivel. Sanus has also added a motion lock to ensure the TV stays in the desired position. “The outdoor market has exploded with homeowners wanting to invest in their outside entertainment spaces,” says Dean Carroll, Sanus’ International Sales Director – Consumer. “These new mounts reflect this growing trend, bringing our trusted premium quality with easy installation and the optimal angle – no matter the weather.”
