AND FINALLY
Filstorage celebrates 30 years with 30 charitable acts
Storage specialist Filstorage is set to complete 30 charitable acts over 12 months to celebrate 30 years in business.
The year-long celebration, which finished at the end of May, has seen Eastrington-based Filstorage sponsor a host of local sporting teams, take part in a charity walks, and host their own events. The activities concluded with Filstorage sponsoring the Music in the Park event at Spaldington, held in aid of Cure
Parkinson’s, which will include a performance from Flo Taylor, daughter of Filstorage directors Paul and Alison Taylor. The company also donated a range of storage and handling equipment to Hull community hub/food bank HU4 Community Trust to help them to organise their storerooms more effectively. The idea for the charity campaign came about after Filstorage employees couldn’t agree on a single charity to
support across the year to mark the business’s 30th anniversary. Beneficiaries include Goole Rugby Club, Pocklington Rugby Club, Hessle Theatre Group, Howden Rotary Club, the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institute, Leukaemia Care and Research, Hull and East Yorkshire MIND, Dementia UK and more than 20 other clubs and organisations. Marketing manager, Tom Catchpole says: “Being based in a rural community, we’ve always
been a charitable business that has wanted to support the local area as much as possible,” he said.
“With the 30th anniversary, we wanted to do more than that and we were looking to nominate a charity of the year which we could do 12 months’ of fundraising for.“
