Gastroback takes top spot in IndyBest

kettles review Gastroback’s Colour Vision Pro kettle has taken the top spot on leading UK review site IndyBest, a stand-alone section of the independent.co.uk. The Gastroback Colour Vision Pro took the ‘Best overall’ slot and scored 9 out of 10, with the reviewer commenting: “This kettle is packed with interesting features – as serious tea addicts, we loved the “keep warm” function which meant, on occasions when we knew we’d be chasing our first cup with a second and third, that the boiling time was slashed… Switching between the different temperature settings (50C, 60C, 85C and 100C) was easy, and the controls were bold, bright and easy to tweak.” Marcus Lux, head of export & business

development at German SDA manufacturer Gastroback, said: “Although we are still in just our second year in the UK market, we have more than 30 years’ experience in selling quality products around the world. Our Colour Vision Pro is a great example of the attention we give to detail and features in all our products and it was really satisfying to do so well in what is undoubtedly a crowded market.”

The Colour Vision Pro Kettle comes with an optical temperature display meaning the appliance lights up in different colours from blue to red according to the temperature.

Rainy Day Trust update

It has been confirmed that from April, families will be facing a massive hike in energy prices. Average bills are expected to rise by £693. Rainy Day Trust, the UK charity for the home improvement workforce and their families, urges all employers in the Housewares industry to encourage their staff to get in touch with the charity now to help to reduce the impact of this price rise. The ‘Let’s Save Energy’ Campaign offers free LED lightbulbs and ECO shower heads to those struggling to make ends meet, helping to drive down their living costs on a permanent basis by reducing energy bills by £200- 300 a year. It’s a no brainer,” CEO

Bryan Clover said in a recent communication. “The charity provides free LED lightbulbs and eco shower heads to those that are going to suffer

the most. Far too many people are going to be hit hard by this and we can do something to help - help us to help them!” The Trust’s other initiatives for 2022 include an adult training programme to help provide better skills for life and help individuals to improve their own incomes, as well as a free online welfare benefits checker that in 2021 identified over £1.8 million in benefits.

Best foot forward! Rainy Day Trust is gearing up for the Mad March Million 2022! The concept of MMM is simple - a small team of 3 or 4 aims to walk a total of 1 million steps in the month of March - about 10,000 steps per day for each member, getting sponsored along the way.

Getting out and about and just walking is great for your
