to communicate. It’s a brilliant opportunity and everybody should try it. I’ve met with nine companies all in one day.
It’s great, really
energising. I’ll definitely be placing orders with some of them when I get home. I would 100% join Curated Meetings again.” Day two of Spring Fair also centred around the newly relaunched Power of One Campaign, designed to energise retailers and consumers to take small steps to help change the future. As well as inviting the thousands of visitors to take part by making their own pledges, the show focused on three pledges to encourage the circular economy, combat overproduction, and prioritise wellness.
The show placed a spotlight on its Sustainability Trail, highlighting brands and suppliers striving to do their part to ensure a more sustainable and ethical future for all. The reaction from visitors was extremely positive, with many finding the Sustainability Trail Icon and detailed sustainability credentials by exhibitors at
www.springfair.com helpful. The Spring Fair App was welcomed by those who wanted to go paper-free, and quickly search and filter exhibitors by Sustainability. “It was great to be back at the show in person and see many of our lovely customers,”Jenny Handley, head of marketing at T&G Woodware, told Housewares. “We were able to see existing customers, met some new customers and welcomed back some old! There was a positive vibe and everyone seemed happy to be out and about, meeting and catching up. Sustainability is very much at the fore of T&G’s policy, having held FSC certification since 1999, so it was lovely to see so many of our customers embrace all our sustainable and natural wood products.” Pam Moss, corporate brand manager at Home Hardware, said: “We felt Spring Fair seemed busy, with plenty of interest in

our business offering. It was a pleasure to see existing Members and meet potential customers and feedback from talking to our stand visitors was positive, with everyone looking to take their businesses forward this year. The inquisitive nature of retail is to discover the latest trends and get a feel for new products and ranges and the show offered that platform. There was a readiness for getting back to normality. With our Spring Trade Show just around the corner on Tuesday 8 March, we expect a good response.” “It was energising to be back at Spring
Fair and showing our portfolio, particularly newness, in real life again,” said Hayley Baddiley, global marketing director at Denby. “There’s no doubt that well-executed and well- attended trade shows can continue to play a role alongside the new showcasing tools we’ve
“Wow, this year’s Spring Fair was just like old times! The enthusiasm, the vibrancy, the excitement of visitors writing orders…! Yes, there might have been an element of keenness to just be meeting people in real life, but it really did feel more than that. We heard from lots of exhibitors (in all areas across the show) that retailers were coming to Spring Fair in their numbers and not shying away from spending money. The innovation was there for all to see too. Areas for improvement? Certainly an expanded housewares sector would be good for retailer visitors, although those exhibiting this time might favour being big fish in a small pond. Having the new format of Ambiente back in the mix next February will also come into play, but this year’s performance will definitely help boost spirits for the upcoming shows in this first quarter. Next stop for us - Chicago!” Rob Sutton, managing director at RKW, commented: said: “This is a very exciting time for RKW as we cement more exclusive brand partnerships and migrate into new product markets. I have been exhibiting at Spring Fair for over 30 years now, and the number of visitors we had this year was truly unprecedented.”
“With the pandemic restricting trade shows
over the last two years, it was evident buyers welcomed the return to normality and face- to-face meetings. Our sales team were busy from the show’s start to finish, welcoming customers old and new while presenting our new trend-setting product ranges, which received an overwhelming response.” Next year’s Spring Fair will take place 5-8
