Selfridges rocks Christmas S

elfridges unveiled its Christmas Shop on August 2 and revealed its festive Christmas theme for 2018, which is

entitled ‘Selfridges Rocks Christmas’. The department store group said the theme is

inspired by ‘the iconic styles and enduring energy of rock and roll and pop music cultures’ which will be celebrated through some thematic Christmas decorations. The theme will also be incorporated into a

suitably ‘rocking’ window scheme with a pop and wild party vibe, and even Santa has undergone a makeover: ‘Rock and Roll Santa’ will roam Selfridges come the Christmas season. As in previous years, Selfridges launches its

Christmas Shop in two phases. The first phase offers 200 more lines than in 2017, bringing the total choice to over 500 products. When phase two opens on September 4, the full-scale selection will increase to nearly 3,800 options. Selfridges Christmas & home buyer Eleanor

Gregory says: “We've been opening the doors to our Christmas Shop during the summer for years now, and have become a real destination for fans of Christmas and festive decorations. “Many visit from all over the world, eager to snap

up festive decorations and souvenirs on their London summer holidays which they can't buy at

home. So we make sure we're ready. The summer Christmas shop launch simply addresses growing demand for convenience Christmas shopping outside the traditional Christmas season. “Our customers also include a large number of domestic visitors who love to Christmas shop very early in the year, to get it wrapped and taken off their to-do list. They also tell us that they like to be able to take their pick of the very best selection available, whilst the range we offer is at its most comprehensive.” New destinations launching at Selfridges this year

include The Christmas Pet Shop; The Tinsel Shop (with over 50 options, 100% made in the UK); and a personalised gifting service, including make your own mix CD or vinyl with MixPixi, and create your own family Christmas jumper from the brand Twenty Seven Baubles. The key decorations trends at Selfridges are: • Glam Rock - a raucous riot of black, gold, emerald green and red, including festive tributes to musical heroes, skulls, neon and the destination Tinsel Shop; • London Calling - a punk twist on all things

British; • Mulberry Forest - rich velvet plums and deep

greens with a touch of blush pink. This Christmas story draws influence from 2018’s Pantone colour of

underpinned with crisp greys and delicate mauves, inspired by frosty morning skies for a sophisticated take on a white Christmas; • Traditional Cheer - a playful take on the traditional red, green and gold colours of Christmas with jolly Santas, prancing reindeer and a mini army of nutcrackers; • Peppermint - a colour pop of mint, red and
