DKB Household UK appoints new md


Diethelm Keller Group (DKB) has announced the appointment of Rene Stutz as managing director of its UK business. DKB said Rene brings ‘considerable experience in the housewares industry globally, holding senior management positions across a range of international housewares brands including Fissler, All- Clad, Wüsthof and Victorinox’. Reporting to Will Symonds, global ceo of manual appliances, Rene Stutz will assume management responsibility for all UK-based employees. Will commented: “As we enter a new,


transformational phase in our development, we are looking to strengthen and enhance our existing, talented senior leadership team. I am therefore excited to announce the arrival of Rene Stutz. “Having such an accomplished leader based in our UK company will be tremendous for the whole business, cementing the UK’s position as a key operations hub for long into the future, and helping to support the overall development of the manual appliances business as we continue to transform and grow it.” DKB Manual Appliances is an international housewares company known for its Zyliss, Cole & Mason and Culinare brands, as well as its long-standing licence partnerships with Jamie Oliver and Ken Hom. The company is 100% owned by the privately held Diethelm Keller Group which is based at Zurich in Switzerland.


Lucy Tiffney launches Cook & Dine collection in partnership with Debenhams


Debenhams has introduced award-winning designer Lucy Tiffney to its home portfolio for Spring/Summer 2020. This new partnership sees the launch of Lucy’s exclusive Cook & Dine collection, which includes teapots, plates and tea towels featuring Lucy’s signature jungle prints. The retailer said the range is aimed at consumers who desire ‘unique and bold cook & dine essentials’. It explained: ‘The colour palette plays into the ‘feel good brights’ trend for the Spring/Summer season. ‘Bold highlights and strong shapes are contrasted against saturated darks to create a playful self-expression within the range.’ Lucy commented: “Working alongside the design team at Debenhams has been


amazing. They have fully taken my ideas and designs on board and adapted them exactly how I wanted. Collaboratively, we have created a fresh and exciting collection. We achieved the goals we set when we started the design process, and have successfully designed a bright and fun collection that we hope will appeal to a broad

Matt Lucas to join Bake Off


Actor, writer and comedian Matt Lucas will be joining host Noel Fielding and judges Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood as co-host for the next series of ‘The Great British Bake Off’.


Matt said: “I’m chuffed to bits to be joining the most delicious show on television. I can’t wait to break bread with Noel, Prue and Paul and meet the brilliant bakers. And bearing in mind my love of cake, I’ve already ordered some much larger trousers in anticipation. See you in the tent!” Channel 4 director of programmes Ian Katz said: “We’re thrilled that one much loved national institution is joining another. Matt has everything it takes to be a great Bake Off presenter: he’s warm, hilarious and loves cake.” Filming for the eleventh series of ‘The Great British Bake Off’ begins this Spring.

• Joan Woulfe, managing director of Cooking Marvellous at


Shrewsbury in Shropshire, sold her high street store to a member of staff to concentrate on online operations at the Cooking Marvellous warehouse.


• John Lewis was one of five retailers that earned the distinction of gia Global Honoree at the International Home + Housewares Show in Chicago for excellence in home and housewares retailing, along with Koskela in Australia, Presentes Rodriguez (Brazil), Hudson’s Bay (Canada) and Jumbo (Turkey).


• Spring Fair organiser i2i Events Group announced the winners of its Buyers Power List Awards. The ‘Power 5’ of individuals that represented ‘buying brilliance’ were named as: Dick Mawdsley of Utility, Gillian Leahy of Ocado, Jo Barber of The Stationery Boutique, Nicola Hattersley of John Lewis and Mette Downer of The Great Gift Company. The overall winner was Gillian Leahy.
