Curver launches sustainability programme
The indoor plastic storage solutions company Curver has announced a new sustainability programme called ‘We Care’. The initiative commits the business to doubling the use of recycled materials across its operations by 2028. Meeting this target will mean 80% of all materials used to create Curver’s product range will derive from a recycled source. The programme will focus on three areas: material innovation, design innovation and business responsibility. Curver marketing director of UK and Ireland
Edward Johnson commented: “To address the environmental challenges we face as a society, we must collaboratively work to live more sustainably. Curver understands the role we should play as a partner to help our customers and consumers in this regard. “The launch of ‘We Care’ is a significant
milestone for the company. We have set ourselves an ambitious target to use 80% recycled materials across our operations within the next 10 years, but it’s a target I’m confident we can achieve. “As a business we are making good headway in tackling the sustainability challenge and minimising our operational footprint, but we also know we have to further improve our approach and invest in our future. ‘We Care’ will help drive our strategic vision and deliver practical solutions.”
Frubel and sales manager Bruno Bortollini were rewarded with a cash prize of £100, a certificate and a glass trophy. Stephen Fennell, key account manager of
Pyrex, received the runner-up prize of £50. A total of 116 exhibitors attended the show and the award was judged by an independent panel and presented by Home Hardware director Nick Pedlar. Nick said: “Tramontina’s lighting was
excellent. The judges particularly liked how they displayed their knife ranges. Tramontina worked very hard on the presentation of their stand and their products were merchandised to a high standard.”

• A successful draw held at the show raised £400 to be split equally between Cancer Research and the Rainy Day Trust. Home Hardware Southwest would like to thank all members, suppliers and staff who generously contributed towards these charities.
Denby’s Imperial Blue celebrates 30th anniversary
In the year that Classic Blue has been named Colour of the Year by The Pantone Color Institute, Denby’s Imperial Blue is commemorating its 30th year anniversary. The housewares manufacturer said: ‘As popular today as ever, Denby is celebrating this special milestone of a true design classic with a specific campaign centred around its design longevity.
‘The campaign includes online content, images, influencer content and a blog. Plus, in a podcast, Denby design director Richard Eaton will discuss the enduring appeal of Imperial Blue.
‘Imperial Blue has evolved over the past three decades, and pieces have been
discontinued and launched to meet the changing needs of society. The range was launched with a coffee jug, for instance, but these are no longer used - being replaced with a cafetiere. Today, to meet the demands of ‘bowl culture’, Imperial Blue has an extensive range of bowls.’
